That didn't take long. Every Miami football player will be offered $500 per month by a chain of gyms to Tweet ads for them. It's the equivalent of the guys on The Sopranos showing up to the job site once a month so they can get a pay stub that says they work in "construction".
Not long before Papa John gives every member of the Louisville basketball team $100k to tweet a pic of themselves with a slice of sausage and mushroom. I'm not saying it's wrong, just inevitable.
Bet we hear a ton of stories in a couple years of former college athletes broke and owing the IRS six figures. These second tier guys getting paid without support on how to save a portion could be an issue if the school doesn't provide guidance and resources.

Re: 2021 Badgers Football
I think most of the conference is highly vaccinated so while I'm a fan of the strategy of threatening teams to get vaccination - I think if there are forfeits due to a breakthrough outbreak, it will be entirely due to luck rather than a team being naughty, ya know?

Yeah, I would think having some kind of threshold om vaccination rate would be reasonable. Have 90% of team vaccinated but you have 15 break through cases, should you really be punished?

Re: 2021 Badgers Football
Right, I saw a few weeks ago that the Badgers were at 85%. Get a few more holdouts and you're over 90%...so you're going to punish a team for having essentially everyone vaccinated? I am not certain but I had thought most of the BIG was doing well with vax rate.

Yeah, it'd be unfortunate to forfeit a game when a Brewers type of situation breaks out for a week or two

A Brewers situation, a few guys testing positive, won't lead to a forfeit. If you can field a team you'll play. It would take a whole lot of positives to forfeit a game. Sure it could happen but it would take a lot. Roster size is around 100 (85 on scholarship)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bucky favored by 5.5 over the Irish. Interesting.

As always, I will repeat my nerdy take that it usually comes out of a model they use that generally thinks highly of the Badgers but...they usually exceed our expectations in the end anyways so the model ends up being right.
That said, if you do the transitive comparisons for Notre Dame...they don't look very good and us Badger fans, fairly pessimistic about Mertz/some aspects of the team can have some of our "woah, 5.5" explained.
Notre Dame barely beat Florida State @FSU. Looks pretty good, right? Oh, actually FSU then lost to Jacksonville State and got destroyed by Wake Forest.
Notre Dame needed a final drive to come back and beat Toledo...who sucks. Toledo just lost 22-6 to Colorado State.
Notre Dame then had a ho-hum win over an OK Purdue team.

Re: 2021 Badgers Football
Okay, so the Notre Dame line was a little fishy but I bought into the Irish having squeaked by some mediocre teams and the Badgers having lost to a really good Penn State team. So I stayed away.
The Badgers being favorites this week however is so far beyond an overly tempting Vegas trap game, it makes absolutely no sense. Maybe the weirdest line I’ve ever seen. Maybe I’m way off here and underestimating the home factor but Wisconsin sucks. How am I not unloading on Michigan?

I haven't seen michigan play yet, but I agree, not sure how any ranked team would be an underdog based on what we've seen from this offense.

The hell? Not surprising in that he was playing so little/sometimes not at all and you figured maybe something was going on, but surprising compared to where we were 6 months ago. I believe we're down 3 RBs now from the start of the season.
