Read an article yesterday with quotes from around the league, and everyone is predicting this to be a pretty wild first round for a couple reasons. The first is there are eight teams without first round picks. The other is that no one has a clue as to what is going to happen. Lack of top end talent and little to no first round QB talent makes for a draft where guys might go a lot higher than mocked and some guys are just gonna drop inexplicably.

Should be fun.

My wishlist from guys being mocked within seven or so picks of ours:

1 - Jordan Davis
2 - Nakobe Dean
3 - Jameson Williams
4 - Jermaine Johnson II
5 - Daxton Hill
6 - Devin Lloyd
7 - Devonte Wyatt
7 - Jaquan Brisker
9 - George Pickens
10 - Traylon Burks

My prediction is
#22 - Tyler Smth
#28 - George Pickens

Read on Twitter

Would be good with this.

Everyone has Hutchinson going #2, but I think it's going to be Thibs and that's when people will start to lose their minds.

Saw this floating around twitterverse. Probably just a hypothetical. This is one of those deals that would entice me to move Love. I like McLaurin a lot.

I think GB is losing that trade. A first and J. Love for Terry and a 3rd (Gute's kryptonite) ? Eh, not a fan.

I feel like it's always supposed to be wild for some reason, and that it most often ends up being a dud anyways.

Hall of fame QB with uncertain number of years in front of him with a massive salary cap, at odds with the GM, just lost his BFF WR, massive (possibly league setting) extensions for Jaire, Gary and Jenkins coming due, while being an awful cap situation, needing to make a decision on a 5th year option next season(I think), while trying to 'go for it' now, while Love hasn't really shown much including getting set back by a Covid year in which he wasn't active for a snap, with relatively unknown trade value in a market overpaying for mediocre QBs.

Not complicated.

I mean i was referring to trading love or not. If the staff thinks he's the guy keep otherwise trade him.

Yeah, I didn't say that to give you crap, as much as how complex the answer is 'do you believe in him or not' plus all the other swirling factors about how to move forward in general.

That feels like more than we got for Adams. If I value Love at a high second, I might move him plus a 3rd or so for McLaurin at most, but that still feels icky.

So many of you were ready to ship off Love for far less. Packaging him with one of our firsts to get a legit #1 wideout seems fair. Then you still have another first to use.

In general I'm not a fan of trading for non-elite WRs who need new deals. I've always like Terry, but I think there's also an element of someone has to catch balls on a bad team. I think if you made most of the WRs mocked in the first round or two the #1 option for Aaron Rodgers they're going to put up 900+ yards and eight TDs. None of them will cost $70 million guaranteed, either.

2022 NFL Draft discussion

Post#853 » by Matches Malone » Thu Apr 28, 2022 4:08 pm

There aren’t many “elite” guys left to trade for. McLaurin is putting up 1,000 yard seasons with multiple bad qbs and teams zeroing in on him because he is one of the few options. You place that talent with a competent offense around him and it elevates his play even more. And the contract doesn’t worry me because he’s still only 26. I don’t think you can bank on a rookie wideout putting up close to that. I think there was a stat floating around that only 10 in the history of first round rookie wideouts gained close to a thousand yards. I’ll have to find that stat after my meeting.

If it's Love/28 for F1/3rd I think I'd be down. More exciting than Claypool for me.

My bet is that we use the Raiders pick to trade up and grab Olave, or we stay tight and draft Treylen Burks.

Love is not traded this year.

Beyond that - all I can say is the starters look awesome on paper, but we lack depth big time. Need depth at every position on defense and OL.

This is an important draft - the roster is top heavy with stars, if we're going to be good for the next 3 years we need guys who can play on the cheap - this is your best shot at just that. Gute has been mostly pretty good here so let's see what happens!

I'm out on Burks. With a RAS that low I'd be shocked to see us take him in the 1st.

You forgot the part where the Packers also have to give McLaurin $120 million.
That's a no for me

I think Hutchinson is going to be better than Walker and I don't relish having him in our division. I hope Detroit does something stupid at 2.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
