Another bold take, I think Ken Walker goes off the board as the first RB despite Hall being the top back in about 99% of what I have seen.

I'd do that 100 times out of 100, assuming the trade-down offer was reasonable.

I think there is a world where you can move Love and 28 for Lockett and 40 (and maybe more).
Then take Pickens or Watson at 40.

I'd feel great about our WR situation even if you had to trade down from 22 a few spots to get a third or fourth you use to send to SEA in getting Lockett.

That still leaves you with a first, gets you Lockett and a good high upside rookie WR to round out the core.

Seattle takes a big cap hit if they trade Lockett. Also he is turning 30 this year.

That'd be pretty wild. I think I've seen him most in the second or third round range.

If true, this is exactly what the Packers should be doing. Just don't panic and take a QB this time if your WR doesn't make it to your improved draft slot. :D Have a better Plan B.

Doesn't take much cap space to account for Love coming in then. And if you take the lumps on Lockett and Wilson this year, that frees up a ton going forward next year.

As for Lockett, good WR under a good deal that Rodgers would love while allowing us to get another good young WR. Seems like a deal that makes a lot of sense for both teams if you think Rodgers will be here at least two years. In my opinion anyway.

As much as I have watched of Walker, if he had been given a token 10 or so more catches (and I am not saying it is his strength), it would have been enough to move him from being a negative pass catcher to average and when you factor in his pure running ability, I think it is a no brainer.

But, it is a 'bold' take, so I have an out if it doesn't happen.

Pick #14 is the spot to watch imo. According to the value chart, we could send our 59th pick to BAL to move up from 22 into that spot. Very real possibility if a top tier WR is still there.

Only thing I don’t want is to move up to take a WR.

Most trades are formulated before the draft starts. Teams talk and agree on trade scenarios should the board fall a certain way. I'm sure Gute has plans in place to move up and to move down.

I'm not sure who Gute would move up for. Olave may be the only guy and not sure he is even on the Packers board.

I heard him compared to Kadarius Toney in terms of not grasping concepts in the playbook or preparing to learn the plays as much as a professional needs to. Could be completely unfound and could be someone putting things out into the twitter world to get media/gms to balk from taking him, but it's gave me pause on him.

Just had a thought, something centered around J Love for DJ Moore might make a lot of sense for both teams. Include Amari Rodgers as a Clemson guy to help seal that deal. I think I would like that a lot.

I am ready to overreact when the reality is we really dont have any idea how any of these guys will pan out. Gary is the perfect example.

Yup! I did not like that pick when it was made and it took a year or so before I decided I really don't know squat  :D

Oh, I love reading up on these guys and kibitzing as if I think I know something, but deep down, I know I'm an idiot....

I'd want #43 and #58 for him, if that's true.

All rumors are "unconfirmed" at this point. Can you just post the link?

it came over my phone.

Fully expecting no WR in round 1. Other than QB, RB and K/P not sure there's a position that would surprise me either, maybe TE. I'm going in expecting a mess so I'm not surprised, disappointed or upset.

I know the foofaraw starts at seven, but what time is expected for the first pick to be announced?

(I'd like to limit my Kiper radiation exposure you know)
