Packers/Bengals Lead up

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Oct 4, 2021 7:44 pm

Bengals are 3-1 and their fans will be fired up (although I expect a fair amount of Pack fans there).

They've beaten the 1-3 Vikings, 1-3 Steelers and 0-4 Jags and lost to Da Bears. But we haven't beaten anyone good yet either. I doubt Alexander plays

That certainly doesn't sound like something you would say for a short term injury situation. Not good at all.

Burrow is going to feast on this secondary without Jaire

Burrow and Chase has been a deadly combo so far. Gonna have to dial up the pressure and collapse the pocket often.

I hate to be negative but man does this Jaire thing suck. If he has surgery he's done for the year but if he plays every hit well be holding our breath. Plus if he plays teams should/will run at him as much as possible to test if he'll even try to tackle with the bad shoulder. Just a **** situation.

I don't believe we can overcome Jaire being lost for the season.

Completely forgot about Kelly. At this point we have so many quality guys on the O-line that I'm wondering if they've already worked out his release so he can compete for a starting job elsewhere.

Been wondering this, but is Yosh the potential RT of the future?

It appears the Nijman project has paid off, at least in the sense that he can be a great #3 tackle. Packers are pretty stacked on the OL once Bakhtiari returns, which should make our offense pretty tough to stop sans injuries.

I think it will be really damn hard for us to recover from a significant Jaire injury though, given that we are already out our top pass rusher and so far, Preston/Gary have just been mediocre in that area. I do believe Stokes is going to be a stud, but he's not one yet and King is......King.

Praying Jaire can get back in a few weeks or at least play this season and we can use his coverage ability. This is as "all-in" of a year as we are ever going to see.

Gary's tied for 4th in the league in QB hits with guys like Myles Garret, and tied for 7th amongst edge rushers in run-stop rate. He's been awesome so far.

Yeah I've noticed Gary get real close a lot. He needs to start finishing them, but I have faith.

Packers are playing without their starting offensive line and starting defensive backfield. Seems bad. Still think they win.
