I was just about to echo DB and say Mertz is putting together a good game. That was a bad decision.

Two dumb, unnecessary throws on that drive. Why take those chances when you're moving the ball at will? Good teams will make you pay for stuff like that. Playing against bad teams is no excuse for continuing bad habits.

Ok let's take Allen out of the game now, please. I think a five score game is safe.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think it's more parity than awful.

Has he? A pick each of the last two weeks, and 268 yards passing, total, in the three games before that.

In mertzs defense the first 5 or 6 gamers mertz would be good for one or two of these a game: tripping over an o linemans foot, fumble a handoff, drop a shotgun snap, throw an int.

He's cut down significantly on these and the badgers at least look serviceable on offense.

He's hitting a good percentage of the easy throws and a hard one or two. That's all we ever really ask of Badger QBs.

Now the two things that remain are:

1. We still wish/yearn for more out of a borderline 5-star QB. Probably never going to happen but still can be mentioned.
2. This is all coming against mostly weak competition. We hope he doesn't go into sucking again when a team like Michigan is bringing more pressure with NFL linemen on defense and that sort of thing.
