Mocked him all the time to us in the 4th. There has not been one "meh" pick for me so far.

Zach Tom sounds like Elgton Jenkins 2.0.

(With even a slight edge to Tom athletically)

PFF breakdown

Position rank 8, big board 64, shades of more athletic Kevin Beachem

PROS
Independent hand usage is a big plus. Throws
a lot at defenders.
Ø Easy, easy mirror ability. Tremendous feet in
pass pro.
Ø Grip strength is a plus. Hands that can control
defenders.

CONS
Regularly walked back into the pocket. Thin
lower half that needs to get stronger.
v More receiver than deliverer in the run game.
Position blocker.
v Leaves pads exposed far too often.

Tom take short choppy steps keeping him on balance and ready to react to whatever is thrown
at him. He's almost never caught too far out of position.
MIRROR

There's obviously a push for him to play inside based on where he lined up at the Shrine Bowl,
but there's nothing in his physical profile that says he can't stay at tackle.
TACKLE WITH VERSATILITY

With his patient play style, Tom has to improve his lower body and core strength to hold up to
the power he'll face in the NFL. He's not too far off, though.

Tom's mirror and hand usage is a great starting point for the tackle
position in the NFL. He's a future starter.

Guard, I think. I was at a restaurant at the time it was announced and only saw it briefly flash on a TV
