Game 17: Lions at Packers - 1/8/22 - 7:20 - NBC

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Jan 8, 2023 12:00 am

As improbable as it seemed 5 weeks ago here we are, win and in.

Lions may be eliminated by Seattle winning but they'd still play hard to finish with a winning record and to knock us out.

Run the ball.
Run the ball.
Run the ball.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Packers will win as Rodgers has a great game, possibly his best of the season. He plays better when he has a girlfriend. 8-)

If I lived a bit closer and/or didn't need to be at work the next day I think I'd be at the game. Some good seats at great prices are available.

Heading to the game tonight, feels like a playoff game! Let's go!
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Lions have won 7 of their last 9, with 1 of the losses being to Buffalo. I sense an air of confidence similar to the 07/08 NFC Title Game vs. the Giants. Not good.

And their other loss was 2 weeks ago, by 14, to the Panthers.

Over confidence is always a concern. I would hope that a team that was 4-8 wouldn’t have that problem but it’s certainly possible.

I'll be there. Can't believe the prices of these tickets. Almost bought them a few weeks ago but it didn't matter, they're practically the same price.

If we lose I don't see how it's due to overconfidence.

-This team crushed us the last time we played.
-We have sucked in the cold for a while, although mostly in the playoffs
-We have just as many, if not more flaws than Detroit

A number of other reasons. I don't see us being overconfident tonight...if we lose it's because the Lions wanted it more.

??? We lost 15-9 on the road, throwing 2 red zone picks. We out gained them 389-254.

I haven’t been this excited for a packer game since last week so I’m prepared to have my heart ripped out.

Thought i'd be a lot more hyped for the earlier games with playoff implications but other than Steelers missing the playoffs and 49ers potentially losing I couldn't care less. Can't wait for our game to start, the fans and the players better bring it the same way they did against the Vikings!

Have to be better than putrid in the red zone. Hope Goff's tiny girl hands gift us turnovers with temps in the mid 20's

I wonder if DET might actually be more dangerous if they have nothing to play for. They can play loose and reckless.

I've seen it said more than once and I'm not buying it. Last game of the year for a dome team with temps in the 20's. Human nature is human nature. The key is not to let them hang around via poor play.

WTF. Dumb. Hate when coaches settle for the 45+ yard field goal when you can easily effort another 10 yards.

I’m just thinking out loud. Obviously I have no way of knowing how a SEA win (or loss) will affect the Lions’ play.

But they do give me that vibe. They’re a young team. They like to be aggressive and physical. They play well that way. If there’s nothing to play for, they are free to do that. But if there is, I can see them being tight, or choking.

Let’s hope it comes down to how we play, not how they play.
