WMBD/CBS - Peoria/Bloomington, Ill.
KCCI/CBS - Des Moines, Iowa
WHBF/CBS - Davenport, Iowa
KWWL/NBC - Cedar Rapids/Waterloo, Iowa

I never read a ton into preseason games as teams are typically using backups and don't really scheme like they would for a regular season game. But I do enjoy seeing the young guys get out there. Looking forward to seeing Love, Clifford, basically the entire WR/TE rooms, Rhyan, Tom, Caleb Jones, Rasheed Walker, Van Ness, Wyatt, Wooden, Brooks, Enagbare, Quay, Valentine, & Carlson

Preseason is good for identifying which late-round picks and UDFAs can actually play. They are all going 100% and playing for a job.

I glean nothing watching an amalgamation of starters and primary backups going half speed trying not to get hurt.

Spitball...

The presumed first team offense in for two series, then Clifford, Toure, and Kraft show better part otwo Qs, and McGough gets the dregs.

On Defense, my bet is Clark and Preston get the earliest hook

I've always viewed preseason as the chance to see which young guys are developing, guage the teams depth at certain spots and certain quote unquote "camp battles"

It can be very hard to judge without the all22 film because how a player looks without it can very much be impacted by other players missing assignments which happens often in preseason but thats not gonna stop a lot from jumping to conclusions.

The good and bad on the first drive. Think we're gonna have a lot of that this year.

WOOF.

Waaaaay too much air under the deep ball to Watson with the safety over the top and then the miss on the easy pitch and catch. Not great.

Yep. 2 routine throws. 1 really good one (that was just damn good play by the saftey) and 1 really bad one missing Musgrave.

Growing pains are gonna happen

We're looking at the long ball differently. Just a great play by the D. It happens.

Really bad 3rd down throw though

Yea, the pass to Watson was perfect. If anything Watson should have made an attempt to go up and get it. Either way a great play by the safety.

Just a little fired up on that 3rd down throw. He'll settle hopefully.

I mean I'm not sure how many 40 yard throws get thrown on a line like your asking for.

Thought the throw was really good. Just a great play by the D

Watson had his man beat, if that throw is at a lower angle with more zip, ie. an actual great throw, we're looking at a TD. Dax Hill made the play, but he also had eons to get to that ball and make a play. We're lucky that wasn't a pick. I can't be the only one that cringed when I saw the safety coming over to make a play.

There's a gap between a 40 yard throw on a line and a 40 yard throw like we're playing 500 in the backyard.
