Little observation but on the Quay Walker return, it was so weird that Walker turned and almost targeted Johnson. He saw him, and went full throttle into him in a "Hit me you can't hurt me" way. That's psycho ****. And then he spun out. Just a wild play and good to see from Walker. Hopefully he can limit the crazy to that stuff and not get those mind numbing ejections and penalties from last year.

I'm guessing Love is getting dinged for the two long Aaron Jones plays where Jones did all the work. But thats going to bea staple of this offense, middle of the field and YAC. I do agree, PFF is better for one on one grades, OL verses DL, DB verses WR, etc.

Two biggest things for me yesterday sans Love's performance, which was obviously very good for a debut:

1. I think this front 7 is going to be absolutely nasty with Walker/Gary/LVN/Clark/Wyatt all being impact guys, and Smith/Campbell being reliable veterans. The pass rush was devastating yesterday and I expect that to continue.

2. Between Watson, A. Jones, Reed, Doubs, and Musgrave, I believe this team has a legit 5 guys who can beat man coverage. I really like our skill guys, we just need to live with the inconsistency this year as fans.

Favorite postgame comment was from Brisker who said he felt the Bears "needed this" because they were "riding too high". You won 3 games last year. I would not say you were high, I would say you were trippin.

Yeah, apparently Bears fans really spent all offseason gaslighting themselves into thinking they were a dark-horse playoff team with a Bottom-10 defense and a starting-QB who can't throw a forward pass that isn't a bubble screen or check down. I don't understand it.

Apparently, even the GM tried to temper those thoughts with an off season comment something like: "Hope is not a strategy"

I don't have an issue with the score they gave Love. Lots to be encouraged by but he left a lot on the field. 1st half wasn't good and he strait up missed Musgrave at the end.

I'm a Love supporter but there's a lot of room for growth. Great game for his 1st "real" start though

The Musgrave overthrow was completely on Luke and even Olsen pointed it out. He keeps running there and that's another easy 6. No idea why he slowed up.

Disagree with all these tempering the excitement on how Love looked takes. He was phenomenal, but he also had a clean pocket to work within the entire game. So really my only question is how he's gonna look once he sees more pressure. That's really what separates the mediocre-to-good system dudes from the greats.

I simply disagree he looked "phenomenal". He looked good for a player making his 1st start. No need to play it up. He made some good throws. Still lots to clean up to get to "phenomenal"

You don't have an issue that they said Justin Fields played better than Jordan Love yesterday? I'll agree Love certainly wasn't perfect, but he was leagues better than Justin Fields was
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Any time a QB is two dropped passes away from ~300 yards and 4 TD's with a perfect passer-rating, yeah...I'd say they were phenomenal. You guys can downplay it if you want, but I call it like I see it.

Even some of his misses weren't really on him. The Musgrave one is the most talked about but pretty sure the rook stopped his route short instead of going up the sideline where Love put it. I'm very encouraged moving forward.

If i was a bettor I would have put a lot on the packers and colorado this weekend with those ridiculous lines.

Yeah people are afraid to call it like they see it with Love. Love has looked at least decent at every possible opportunity. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes, looks comfortable, and can straight up spin the **** out of the ball. He's good and that was a phenomenal 1st career start, one of the most phenomenal in fact

It is the Bears though, so some room to pump the brakes there. Good test next week

Does PFF grade garbage time? If they do, that's a serious flaw in their scoring system.

I was most impressed with Loves poise. I'm sure there were a ton of nerves going into that one but he didn't really show it.

Now I'm curious how him and the team look next week. Young teams can fall in the trap of getting a little too happy with themselves after a big win.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Fair points. I do think that poise is what most guys that bomb don't have. Never mind he has excellent size, arm, mobility....we might really have something but there will absolutely be ups and downs and cringes and cries along the way.
