Game 2: Packers at Falcons - Noon - Fox - Jenkins probable MCL sprain

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Sep 16, 2023 7:45 pm

Tra Blake and crew will officiate.

Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma on the call.

Line opened Falcons -2, swung all the way to Packers -2, back to Falcons -2 and is currently at Falcons -1.5

Watson and Jones likely out.

Patrick Taylor and Innis Gaines elevated from the PS

I think we are the better team. We have a road game under our belt. We win this game by 6.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I want the Pack to win, but I'm going to be a pessimist for this one. The Offense may struggle, especially the ground game, without Jones. (I wish they would have elevated Wilson instead of Taylor. Wilson isn't Jones, but he's more likely to pop loose). The D will need to carry the load Sunday.

Atlanta by 3 (13-10)

I'll be quite happy to be proved wrong.

Wilson is already on the roster. Still, Taylor could see snaps in pure passing situations because he's good in pass pro. Ideally, Dillon would have a monster game as the featured back.

The biggest issue is how the Packers run D holds up against a very good ground game. If they can stop the run somewhat effectively, this should be a win.

With your two biggest gravity guys out I think it's too much to overcome. Packers lose in a bowling shoe ugly game

I think the defense steps up.

Agreed. Riddler was 15-18 last week but for only 115 yards and was sacked 4 times. Falcons only had 221 total yards. Shut down Allgeier and Robinson, win the game. I just think we have way more talent, even without Jones and Watson.

Riddler literally played the Fields game plan of check downs. He had Drake London and Pitts open a bunch of times but continued to check down. If they showed him on the film what he missed and he can read the progressions it will be tough.....if not then our defense will do well.

It's a long season and with Watsons history of hamstring problems I don't fault the Packers at all for sitting them. Getting them both back healthy for the Detroit game in 11 days is a bigger priority imo.

Actually not feelin confident about this one. Think we have a “let down” and that we struggle with Jones out

Looking forward to moving on from him next year. LT is such a premium important position you can’t go week to week having no idea if the preferred starter is going or not.

The Packers will likely have to cut Bakhtiari after the season. It will be interesting to see where he signs. Have a hard time believing he will sign with a tram that plays on turf unless they give him a ton of guaranteed money. Maybe his knee will be healthier a year from now.
