Game 13: Packers at Lions - 12/5/24 - 7:15 - Amazon/Channel 6 in the Milwaukee Area

Last year we went to Detroit on Thanksgiving at 4-6, jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter lead, and beat them. We seemed to catch them off guard. That won't happen Thursday night. Any chance to still win the division hinges on this game. This will be tough but is certainly winnable.

I think if we don't march down and score a TD on the 1st drive to set the tone, we will not win the game. Can't see winning if we're playing from behind.

Gute's going to have to rebuild that Corner room this offseason the way he did with the safeties.

Not too much to criticize or nit-pick with Gute these past couple off-seasons, but maybe running it back with the same "meh" corner platoon/depth was a mistake when Jaire has a pretty ample track record for not being healthy at this point. Hurts a little more that Rasul Douglas has started all 12-games for Buffalo and still looks great.

I get people talking about the CB slots especially with Jaires injury but maybe it's just me that thinks the pass rush has been a MUCH bigger problem and that even sans Jaire our CBs wouldn't be viewed as a huge issue if Gary just played the way he's paid to and LVN took a leap, (or even just a step), this year

Jaire can't stay healthy, is it possible to cut him next offseason? Do we save some money?

I don't blame the Packers for trading Douglas, at the time it looked like the Packers were heading for a losing season and a couple year rebuild (probably drafting a new qb). Douglas is 30 and needed a new deal, that's not who you keep around during a rebuild. Had they known Love and the Packers would turn it around like they did I bet they would have kept Douglas, but hindsight is 20/20 etc.
That being said they probably need a free agent and day 1 or 2 pick at CB this offseason.

He's a cap hit of $25.8 million and a dead cap of $19 million if cut or traded. For 2026 it's $27.8 million/$10.8 million. Then his contract is up. He'll be 29.

Packers would save 8 million with a post June 1st cut.
He isn't getting cut at that number.
He's young enough you just gotta hope he gets a good run of health. You don't just cut bait with a player his age/ability unless you have no other choice. The Packers aren't in that position

Well, it seems that 2026 seems a good possibility in case the injures continue to happen.

It's frustrating he's always hurt but with that dead cap number Id probably bring him back for one more year. Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll be healthy. Then you absolutely move on in 26.

I think the Packer offense goes crazy tonight.

I expect this to be a pretty high scoring game. Fast track, both teams missing some key defenders. I don't see a lot of defensive stops happening

Need to find a way to win this one. Tough road game next week.
