Re: Saints Leadup (MNF)
Carr was out with a concussion. Don't know if he'd be cleared but they might just shut him down now that they're out of it. Kamara left with a groin injury. But they still only lost by 1. Just need to take care of business.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Believe it or not, they are not eliminated from playoff contention yet. Hopefully Tampa wins Sunday night and shuts the door. Increases the likelihood that they quit if we jump out to a lead on a cold night.

Not sure I want to see Tampa, though.

The Saints are bad. We should crush them

What are some of the scenarios going forward? Like if we win and DET wins, we have zero chance at the division but clinch a playoff berth. Do we just rest guys the final 2 weeks thinking its better to be healthy than fighting for 5th vs. 7th?

Re: Saints Leadup (MNF)
I think 5th vs. 7th is a pretty big deal. Avoiding @Philly or @Vikings as the 2 seed is a big deal.
One would hope by the final week, though, it's unlikely enough to drop that far that we can pack it in.

Tough call. I really don't want to go to Detroit, Minny or Philly in round 1. Sure we probably have to beat 2 of them to get to the SB but I'd still rather go to Tampa first. Right now Washington has the tiebreaker on us (conference record). It would be helpful if they lose to Philly on Sunday. We'd be two up on them with 2 to play. Same conference record. If we end up tied with them with the same conference record the next tiebreaker is common games, minimum of 4. We will have both played Arizona, Chicago, Philly and New Orleans. But we will have played Chicago twice and they would have played Philly twice so I don't know how that factors in.
I wish we played Chicago before Minny.

I'd like to avoid Philly for sure. Minny vs LA is a tossup. We had a tough time beating LA when they were without Nacua and Kupp, and now they are surging with them. Playing against SB winning Stafford vs. Darnold in his 1st playoff game makes me lean wanting to play Minny, but its close.

Even with my personal anxiety about losing playoff games to rivals taken out, the teams are probably fairly even overall - but I'd much rather play in front of a stadium filled with Packer fans + people that don't really care vs. the massive home field advantage of Minny, even if we will get some fans in the doors due to proximity.

Re: Saints Leadup (MNF)
I'm probably in the minority here but I don't really care what seed we get or who we face in the wildcard round. Tampa & LA have both been playing very good football lately and I think Detroit's injury issues have knocked them down a peg. Philly is probably the best team in the conference now by a clear margin imo but even if we play them I'm fine with it since we'd have to get through them most likely at some point anyway. I think we should try through Minnesota and then rest our key guys in Week 18, especially if there's no chance we could play Philly R1

Re: Saints Leadup (MNF)
Since they reseed after each round being 6 vs. 7 gives you a slim, VERY SLIM, chance of hosting a playoff game.
I agree the most likely scenario is we play to win in Minny and punt the Chicago game, which kind of sucks for the home fans but you have to do it. If Seattle beats Minny and so do we would be tied with the Vikings, tied head to head and tied with conference record, I'm not sure how we far after that. GO SEATTLE.

Re: Saints Leadup (MNF)
We could clinch before MNF if:
ATL (home versus NYG) loss or tie + LAR (@NYJ) loss or tie
ATL loss or tie + SEA (home versus MIN) loss or tie
Atlanta is starting Penix at home against the Giants, so probably not going to happen for us. But if Atlanta lays an egg, then there's a decent chance that either Seattle or LAR will lose, too.
I primarily want to clinch so we can rest Jacobs, who has been an absolute stud but is third in the league in carries.
