Game 16: Packers at Vikings - 12/29/24 - 3:25 - FOX

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Dec 28, 2024 1:29 pm

A healthy Vikings team at home with the #1 seed still in play will be tough. They've played well this season but also have had a lot of breaks go their way. Just no injuries please. Pack are 3-2 in Minnesota under MLF.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Id be alittle less annoyed if Jaire wasn't out every season with non contact hammy injuries or something.

Is there a way we can be locked into our seed after tomorrow? I really want to rest Jordan vs Chicago and see Malik put up 40 on the Bears.

No. If we win then we can secure a 5 or 6 seed if Washington loses but we wouldn't be locked into 5 or 6.

If we lose we're locked into 6 or 7 depending on how Washington does the last two weeks but both options would be in play for week 18.

So against Chicago we're going to have to make the decision on whether to push for better seeding or rest our key guys

Washington will have to make a similar choice most likely. If they win tomorrow they're in. Then they have to decide whether to rest guys against Dallas. I'm sure our game against the Bears will be at the same time as their game against Dallas. It will be interesting.

If the Packers beat the Vikings and Washington loses to Atlanta, id rather see the Packers treat the Bears game like a bye week and rest everyone they can. The difference between the 5 seed vs 6 seed is negligible imo. Plus there's a good chance in this scenario that even if they beat the bears they still end up the 6 seed.

He’s listed as questionable and was limited in Friday’s practice. So he’s probably out. The percentage of players that were both of those isn’t very high on playing that week.

Brown was brought up from the PS, Bullard won't be playing.

I don't feel good about this one. Injuries mounting on our side while Vikings are pretty much all the way healthy. NFL wants that Vikings-Lions matchup to mean something next week so hopefully the refs don't screw us too hard

Their best win of the year is against us when we had 4 TOs. They aren't the juggernaut people make them out to be.

That being said they are healthier, need the game more, and are playing at home. I think we lose this one.

Has there been a team in the NFL over the past 20 years who has had worse luck drawing bad match-ups in the playoffs than the Packers have had.

Not my #1 reason, but a one of my big reasons why Packers have only played in 1 Super Bowl in the past 20 years is the fact that many times they ended up drawing their worst possible match-up in the playoffs or just so happened that particular bad match-up was good the same year the Packers had a good team.

For example two seasons when the Packers were really good, it just so happened that the Giants were really good those same 2 seasons.

I bring this up because this might be the most legit Packers team IMO since the late 90's. But if we lose today and end up playing the Eagles in the wild card, it might be our worst luck draw ever.
