Grade the draft, overall thoughts
1 (23) - Matthew Golden - Texas - WR
2 (22) - Anthony Belton - NC State - OT
3 (23) - Savion Williams - TCU - WR
4 (22) - Barryn Sorrell - Texas - EDGE
5 (23) - Collin Oliver - Oklahoma State - LB
6 (22) - Warren Brinson - Georgia - DT
7 (21) - Micah Robinson - Tulane - CB
7 (34) - John Williams - Cincinnati - OT
Overall I'm pretty happy. They got some needed playmakers on offense and a few exciting additions to the front seven. I don't really understand Belton in the second round, just like I didn't understand Morgan in the first. That keeps it from being an A for me.
Very excited about Williams and Golden, though.

Belton is the weird pick for me as well, but overall a solid B.

I think I saw on another site he had 18 different top 30 visits. Might explain why he went in the 2nd.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
Thought it was a very solid draft overall. Not sure what not taking a corner early signifies for Jah, but I could honestly see it going either way still. People might lose their **** if they still move on from him but I wouldn't be shocked if that's what happened.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
My Rankings for the 2025 Packers Draft class
Matthew Golden-36
Anthony Belton-157
Saivion Williams-185
Barryn Sorrell-90
Collin Oliver-64
Warren Brinson-125
Micah Robinson-NR
John Williams-221
I'm excited about Golden, and loved what they did on day 3.
It wasn't the order I'd have gone in but they ended up with a solid group of guys that I'm excited to see.
I'll give them a B

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
I liked a lot of the picks. With the perspective of hindsight and how the board fell I might've preferred they take that trade down with the Giants or whoever and pick up an extra top 100 pick but if Golden is a stud then they'll look smart for not doing that.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
Feels pretty solid.
Getting a #1 WR and adding more talent to the WR core where MLF excels at using guys talents.
Beefing up the Dline and pass rushing.
Adding depth to the Oline, hopefully making an upgrade at least 1 starter.
The secondary is the only area with more needs.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
Pretty happy with it. Giving Love some dynamic weapons in Golden/Savion, and adding O-line depth in Belton to keep him upright is not a bad approach. Adding Sorrell/Oliver was nice work as well to balance out.
B sounds about right.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
Strictly subjective: my highest expectation is for Golden, as he appears the most NFL ready; the most interesting to see what he does-Williams; and the guy we all want to succeed-Sorrell.

B
I like that they finally invested some premium picks into the offense, hopefully it'll be whats needed to get Love back into the top 5 qb category. Also some solid value picks on day 3 for the defense.

I like the Golden pick, but the cost the Falcons paid to move up behind us would have been a no brainer for me.

I looked at that one for awhile and I don't know. The Texans gave up #25 and #101 this year to get #46 plus the Falcons 1st next year. The Texans had a bunch of 2nds and 3rds so they benefitted there in that it was an easier move for them to make and still have a lot of Day 2 picks. That wouldn't have been the case for us. It could obviously pay off really really well for them next year but I can understand why Gute didn't want to mortgage his immediate draft capital like that, not to mention how that plays in front of the home crowd.

Love the Golden pick. The other guys have no clue on. And who knows, the Golden pick may not pan out.
Only question I have is the Savion Williams pick. The one is boom or bust all the way.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
I give it a B probably. The thing I like about it is that assuming we hit on the first three picks, we should have one of the more complete offenses in the league. Tons of depth at WR and OL now, so the cream should rise to the top. Have Jacobs/Lloyd at RB, Kraft/Musgrave at TE. The offensive side of the ball has zero excuses.
I like adding edge depth late, but I feel that is one area of the team they are really rolling the dice right now. Given the years LVN, Clark, and Gary had in 2024, they must really be banking on coaching being a major issue for the pass rush.
I also would have liked to nab a corner higher, but my guess is now that Jaire is back.

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
Having added two recievers with significant speed (Golden and Williams), two other guys who have shown they can get separation from defenders with some frequency (Wicks and Kraft), and also seemingly upgraded the OLine, does that put pressure on Love to deliver the long ball with more consistency? I've read it several times here that one reason for limits on Golden's production at Texas was the weaker arm of Evers. It limits the usefulness of that burner speed, if the receiver has to adjust to an underthrown ball.

It was a blast. Thought the Packers & NFL did a great job for the most part with the event. One hiccup came Thursday night, I was with my group in the Draft theatre and left around 530 to go to the restroom and get a hotdog thinking an hour and a half would be plenty of cushion. They only had two concessions open in the stadium and the line took over an hour, then the theatre "reached capacity" and they didn't let anyone in for about 20-30 minutes so my dad & I left and went and watched from inside Lambeau. Eventually they changed their mind and let everyone in, I'm assuming Mark Murphy made a call or something.
The rain was a bit of a bummer on Friday but it stopped raining by the time the draft started and they seemed to have things running much smoother Friday & Saturday. They had a lot of things for families to do(40 yard dash, FG kicking, etc) and attractions(you could see next years SB trophy and all the SB rings), plenty of places to buy beer and go to the restroom, etc. Saturday was beautiful out and it was super packed, the event hosts I thought were decent on day 3 keeping the crowd engaged
Overall I thought Green Bay showed out and they seem to be getting rave reviews for how well of an event they put on. I believe I read that there was only 1 arrest made and only a handful of people kicked out.
My only real critique was they didnt really list the draft results anywhere so if you missed a few picks you had to go on your phone to see who got drafted to what team. But that's minor

Re: Grade the draft, overall thoughts
I voted an A because I’m a homer but I am really excited about this group. Realistically it’s a solid B but there’s a lot of upside. I loved the middle rounds a lot where we stacked some nice defensive players. Sorrell was probably my 2nd favorite pick and Oliver looks legit too. Beefing up the DL with both Georgia DTs was a nice move as well. I think Golden has a chance to be special. 1st draft I can remember I don’t really have a complaint.
