GT: Miami (OH) at Badgers - 8/28/25 - 8:00 - BTN

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Wed Aug 27, 2025 12:08 pm

The Redhawks went 9-5 last year, winning the MAC regular season, but got crushed in the MAC title game.

With the brutal schedule this is one we have to win.

Bucky favored by 17.5

Miami probably won't be a pushover. They are picked a close 2nd in the MAC this year in the preseason rankings and their QB is Dequan Finn, former MAC player of the year. As well as some might remember but it was between him & TVD last offseason for which QB we wanted and we ultimately chose TVD
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Are we allowed to be excited about this team this year? Always hoping for a win but does losing create change?

We probably win but it will be close.

I had a Miami dynasty in CFB 25, I recall them having a ton of seniors that first year, so they should be weakened quite a bit from their impressive season last year, but who knows with the portal.

Looking forward to watching a healthy QB1 and the new offensive scheme.

Assuming there is no deal (I'm guessing it won't get done until Friday as college football Saturday is a big deal) the best option is to sign up for the new Fox One streaming service. It just started last week. They have a 7 day free trial and BTN is part of that. And sometimes when deals expire the channels stay on for awhile as they continue negotiating. But that's rare. I'm going to wait until tomorrow afternoon to sign up. I don't want to wait too long, I want to make sure it works ok and there are no glitches. If they don't reach a deal by the weekend Fox will see an increase in Fox One subscriptions and many will forget to cancel the free trial. Maybe that's part of their strategy.

The other option is to go to a bar and watch. I rarely do that. I don't like watching games that matter to me with doofuses.

Man. Seeing this thread go up was pretty sobering. I can't name a single Badgers player. I may actually be fully out on college football until draft season. The lack of rollout or plan for NIL and all the transfer stuff has ruined the game.

You can't name them because they just aren't that good right now. This will go a long way into showing what the team is like this year. Should boatrace a MAC team at home at night.

Usually a night game at Camp Randall is pretty good but the students aren't back yet so that section won't be full.

It’s also a late start on a Thursday. People still work.
