My version:

1 - Adam Carriker - DE - Nebraska
Carriker is versatile, big and can pressure the QB inside and out. Very low bust potential. I'm shocked McShay has him falling this far.

2 - Brian Leonard - RB - Rutgers
Leornard would make a nice compliment to Morency. Can play RB, FB, H-Back. Next season we get our franchise runner and Leonard's role doesn't even change.

3 - Ben Patrick - TE - Delaware
Patrick from all accounts is a good athlete, has nice size, seems like a good kid and could be a weapon in the passing game.

4 - Aaron Rouse - S - Virginia Tech
Passing up Alexander for Rouse was tough. But safety is a more pressing need and even if he doesn't pan out there he could eventually be a Darnell Bing type OLB anyway.

5 - Tim Mixon - CB - Cal
Mixon got overshadowed by Hughes but I like him a lot. Nig time injury history but if he's got a clean bill of health he provides CB depth and can return punts.

6 - Justin Hickman - OLB/DE - UCLA
Hickman was a terror against USC and ate Sam Baker alive. If he's taken here I think he's the steal of the draft. Can play standing up on the outside but I think as a situational pass rusher he could have a Mark Anderson type effect.

7 - Dallas Sartz - OLB - USC
Sartz is going to be a valuable special teamer for a long time I think. I don't know if he ever starts, but he's insurance if any of our backers goes down during a game.

7 - Brandon Myles - WR - West Virginia
Myles is ridiculously overlooked because of the offense WVU ran, but he's got size (6'3") and speed (4.41). He kicked ass during Senior Bowl week and I find it very doubtful he lasts this long. I could even see him going as high as the 4th.

7 - Ramonce Taylor - WR/WR - Texas
If you watched Taylor you'd think he'd time faster than his measurables. the guy looked like Reggie Bush lite. The Packers were rumored to like him a while ago. If he's still around at this point I figure why not? Certainly a character risk, but that's why he's here.

If there's one guy who's stock has fallen like a rock it's Hughes.

Following the Senior Bowl week there were those that had him going amongst the top two or three corners.

Then he ran a 4.65 at the combine and fell right off the map. He improved it at his pro-day by running a 4.56 but that's still a snails pace for a CB.

Still, he's second to none in playmaking ability. I think a team that runs a lot of Cover 2 would be wise to pick him up late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd. Tampa at #64 or #68 or Pittsburgh at #77 would be nice fits.

I'm guessing that TE Miller from ASU won't be there when the Packers pick in the 2nd round.

Why do we need a defensive end in the 1st round? If we retain KGB as a pass-rush specialist behind Kampman and Jenkins, we should be fine there. Of course we want TT to take the best-available, but is Carrkier that much better than others who will be there?

Depends on who's there. But I don't think you can have too many great lineman.

I'm not even gonna tell her I can't make it to the wedding. How many brides remember most friends at the wedding anyway? I'll be at the reception when that starts at 8:00.

I can't get into seven round mocks,anything past two rounds is a waste of time IMO.Way to many players get picked alot higher and lower than draftnick sites predict.Then all of a sudden many fans off teams get up in arms when their team drafts a guy say in the third round that these internet sites said was a 5th-6th round player.Or those fans start having a panic attack when their team keeps passing on a guy that "was supposed to be" a second rounder and here the guy is still there in the 5th round.

Like most football fans,i love and look forward to the draft.It's nice that there is so much free info on draft prospects for fans to check into and mock drafts are fun.With that said,it does get somewhat annoying to me watching fans on message boards screaming,"i can't believe we spent a third rounder on a guy we could have had in the fifth round instead"!!

It's as if some people take these internet rankings as fact and if their team doesn't follow what nfldraftcountdown or Kiper says,their GM has to be smoking meth.

I agree completely with that Leonard pick. I think he can play FB, get some carries at HB and play out at H-Back as well. I hope he's still there when we come up.

As for the wedding DB, don't know if you're a Scrubs fan, but watch Turk and Carla's wedding episode. Dr. Cox tried the whole going to the reception thing and pretending he was at the service and it didnt go well. Learn from Dr Cox's mistake

My 4 Round Draft
1. Reggie Nelson- I'm a big fan of defense as your cornerstone

3. Usama Young- CB out of Kent state. Sleeper?
4.Scott Chandler- TE Iowa

1-Olsen or Reavis or trade down. Nelson is good - just don't see using #16 on a S other than Landry. Any DE that drops to 16 will be the bust.
2-Pittman
3-Patrick or if we took Olsen then a CB??? or WR????

As I said before (like Dude) no point to predict past 2nd though I like Ben Patrick at 3rd if Olsen is gone.

I've changed my mind about Patrick after seeing him on tape.

He runs stiff, he choreographs his routes, I don't see a whole lot of athleticism... I really now hope we stay away from him.

Why do you think that if any of the DE's fall they'll be a bust? The top 3 (Adams, Anderson and Carriker) all grade out higher than the two DE's that went late in the first round last year and both Hali and Kiwinuka (when he wasn't making bone head plays) looked real good. Jarvis Moss is a better prospect than Mark Anderson was. I think they could come in and at least provide consistent pressure from the outside and in the case of Carriker, be a valuable run stopper as well. One guy who I think will go a lot higher than most project is Charles Johnson.

I'd LOVE to get Pittman in the 2nd.

If you've seen tape on Patrick that clearly exposes the things you state I will defer to you on that. Though to me while clearly not great - hence being available in the 3rd round - he has sure hands and since Pack led league in dropped passes I felt he'd at least be solid there. As for chorographed routes that could either work for or against him -either drive Brett crazy or if they are same wavelength - love him.

Only a week to go and we can stop picking names out of a hat! Woo Hoo!

Yeah the buildup to the draft goes on for weeks, I'm ready to get it over with so we can all start our second guessing.

In these four rounds, we'd fill holes at RB, WR, CB as well as add some depth along the D line in the form of the potential laden Brown.

Round 1: Lynch...somewhat of a need pick, but it's also pretty good value.

Round 2: Rice...If Rice is available in the second round, and we decide not to trade for Moss (perhaps wait to see if he's released), I think Rice would be a very good selection. I like Rice as a great value pick high in the second round and think he could develop into someone special down the road with some added bulk and seasoning, as his route running is a bit average at this point. He also appears to be a bit fragile, but here's hoping that was just representative of being the only offensive weapon in the incredibly tough SEC.

Round 3: Scott, Kenny
Scott has good size and runs like the wind, but he also could use a fwe years before he's ready to be a full time starter, which I think is perfect for this team. I can't think of a better situation for a young DB to step into-learning behind one of the all-time greats in Charles Woodson and the consummate professional Al Harris. While Scott has more innate athletic ability than Harris, it would be incredibly beneficial for him to see what Harris does to prepare himself for each and every game. Scott could be special teams contributor for this season, as it's unlikely he'd crack the top 4 DB's. But after a year or two of seasoning, he and Blackmon could be a very formidable duo down the road.

Round 4: Brown, Kareem
I've seen Brown play a few times in the last year, and the guy is incredible explosive...at times. This pick reminds me a lot of the Washington pick a few years ago, except that Brown is unlikely to eat his way out of football (weight problems will not be his issue). I tend to side away from the boom or bust d lineman and prefer the underrated motor guys, but at this point in the draft (early day two), I have no problem taking one of these guys. In fact, this is a damn near ideal spot for him. He doesn't have to contribue next year (although he could) and he's also learning behind two players who have excelled at getting the most out of their abilities (Kampman and Jenkins). Perhaps that will motivate him to bring it on every play. He's a very good pass rusher, so perhaps he'll be able to make a Mark Anderson like impact off the edge.
