Mcshay says lynch at 16 would be a reach
On espn he just said that lynch should go late first round, and that he would be overvalued if selected 16.

Same here. Thought that the entire season.
Would I be pissed if we took him? No, but he's up there with Greg Olson and Leon Hall with guys that I wouldn't be thrilled with.
I think he could be a good, maybe great runningback. But I also think that there's a chance that an excellent defensive lineman falls in our lap. Maybe a Carriker, Branch, or Anderson.
There's even two names that I'm expecting to be there that might not get as much pub, but would be great additions. Justin Harrell was the #1 rated DT in college football coming into this season. He tore some muscle and was lost for the season. But now he's 100% again and apparently he looked real good in his workout. If he lasts to the twenties I think he's a steal. Also, I know I brought him up a while ago, but I don't think we should dismiss Jarvis Moss. At worst he's a situational pass rusher, but even those guys will play 30-40% of the snaps. I don't doubt he could be a terror in his first year the way Mark Anderson was. I could see him turning out like a Leonard Little. Someone who comes in underweight but eventually fills out into an everydown elite DE.

Lynch may fall a bit, but I'm not sure he'd be a "reach" at 16. I don't think you'll see him fall past the NYG at 20 if the PAckers don't select him, but the difference in being drafted at 16 vs. 20 wouldn't qualify as a "reach" in my book....
I like Lynch and think he'll be a very productive back in the NFL. I think he's currently taking a hit from the overanalyzing of the last couple weeks before the NFL draft. Could we find more value out of that selection? Sure. I'd probably trade down a few slots and pick up another 3 OR I would try and trade up for Peterson if he falls to Washington. Both I think are solid options.
As for those dlineman you mentioned, DB....I do not like, and never have liked, Alan Branch. I think he's far more overrated in this draft than Lynch. As I said immediately after the OSU (while we were discussing the best d lineman in the draft), I thought he looked very overrated-was consitently blown off the ball, and even though he had a pick and fumble recovery, was invisible for the remainder of the game as OSU destroyed the interior of Michigan's D. I'd take Lynch over Branch any day of the week, even though I value a dominant DT more than a dominant RB. Admittedly, I haven't seen muc of Carriker this year, but from what I've read, and the littel that I have seen, I think there are questions about his position in the NFL. He's a better fit in a 3-4, than as a 4-3 end, as he might not have enough speed to come off the edge in the NFL. Now some have said the same about Aaron Kampan, and since Carricker is a VERY hard worker, I certainly think he could have as good of an impact as Kampman, (he's also quite a bit bigger than AK). But b/c I'm not convinced that he'll be able to rush the passer consistently, I think I'd rather trade down. Anderson? I'd take him in heartbeat over Lynch and probably every other possibility. He's being overanalyzed right now, but ultimately, I don't see him falling this far.
If we trade down, I think Moss certainly becomes an option, but I wouldn't take him at 16 as I like Meachem and Lynch a bit better.
At the end of the day, I think you'll see one of four options:
1) Trade up for PEterson if he falls
2) trade down and select either Bowe, Meachem, Nelson, Ross or Moss in the 20's
3) Draft Lynch
4) Draft Meachem

I can see Lynch as a bit of a reach at 16 due to the fact that this RB class is light at the top. I think the Packers can get better value trading down to the 25-30 range and taking Michael Griffin or Dwayne Jarrett, but it's a matter of finding a team willing to trade up. It seems like there are comparable backs available in rounds 2-3. If we stay at 16, I think we can get more value at DL or CB.
