This way when the draft starts we will have one devoted thread. I know last year we all sat in the realgm chat during the draf tso we had real time talk. I dont know if you all want to do that again this year or not. Im down for it tho. I will be on my couch with the laptop the whole draft...

I know TT is going to end up trading at least twice... so heres to a good draft and the second best day of the year behind the NBA draft

Couple of thoughts before tomorrow...

-with rumors of Detroit taking Calvin Johnson I'm scared ****....I do NOT want to see him in our division, specifically on the other side of Roy Williams. While I think they're just trying to get Tampa to trade up for him, I'm hoping that Tampa bites the bullet, b/c that WR combo would be the best in league history.

-Denver also wants to move up in the draft to get one of the DE's, so I think the Packers could be players to move down with them (they have the 21st overall) to pick up another 3rd. Pitt is in the market for a DE, so Denver might want to move up further, but we could be an option. If Carricker is still on board at our selection, I really think we should trade down with a team like Denver. In all reality, that would mean we won't be seeing Marshawn Lynch here.

-I think AP will go to Cleveland at the last minute as the front office convinces the team's owners to give Frye another shot. I think it's 55-45 AP at this point, but Quinn could still win out in the end.

-If AP does fall, I don't see him getting past minnesota at #7, unless LaRon Landry is still available.

-The Packers will be rumored to move up ONLY if AP falls to Washington, but at the end of the day, I think it's more likely that they'll move down.

-If the Packers don't pick a WR in rounds 1 or 2, Randy moss will be a Packer. (I think he will be anyway). If the decide not to trade for Moss, my best guess is that they will select Sidney Rice in round 2.

-I've heard that Will Blackmon has once again been very impressive in offseason drills, so I don't think CB is something they will address until possibly round 3, where they could select one of the more raw prospects to groom and join Blackmon behing the veteran corners. If the Packers trade down in the first round, I would very much like them to consider Reggie nelson, who as a centerfield ballhwak would fit in well with the Packers defense, if they believe he can handle it mentally.

When we make our pick I would like just ONE thread on whoever it is. Instead of 10 different ones. I know people like their opinions to be at the top but let's try to have just one thread for each pick we make.

Whenver we make our pick, 3-4 hours into the draft unless we trade down, whoever starts the first thread on him, that will be the official round 1 thread. I'll start one if I'm around then but it doesn't matter who starts it.

It's suppose to be 70 and sunny tomorrow, it will be tough to stay inside to watch the draft, as much as I love to do so.

Draft coverage starts at 10 AM Central time on ESPN, but the Raiders are on the clock at 11 AM Central time. The first round usually lasts about 5 1/2 - 6 hours, depending on trades. So ... figure about 10-11 minutes per pick. The Packers (er, I mean the team picking at #16) should pick between 1:30 PM and 2 PM?

I am going to have a separate sticky thread for each pick. This thread can be a general build up to the draft thread. Once we may our first pick there will be one thread created and stickied for him and each of our subsequent picks. This thread can also be used to discuss other teams picks as well.

throwin the TT being TT draft scenario out there and I think the Pack trade 16 and their second rounder to NE for 24 and 28 it works out in the value system. With the possiblity of trading one of those picks to move back again for multiple picks if player/players coveted are not there.

God **** damn I hope the Queens don't take Peterson. I'm not thrilled with the possibility of seeing Quinn twice a year (I like him more than Russell), but I really don't wanna see Peterson.

My buddies and I tried to predict the top ten picks of the draft this morning. Loser is DD for the night. I'm looking pretty good right now. They were:

1 - Oakland - Russell
2 - Detroit - Johnson
3 - Cleveland - Thomas
4 - Tampa - Adams
5 - Arizona - Brown
6 - Washington - Okoye
7 - Minnesota - Peterson
8 - Atlanta - Landry
9 - Miami - Quinn
10 - Houston - Hall

Only two off right now.

Maybe, but I don't see it. I think he possibly goes to St. Louis.

I was never impressed with him when I watched Louisville this season. He was either stoned at the line and pushed back, or he used his speed to be in the backfield. He rarely plugged the hole or collapsed the pocket. Some say he's the next Warren Sapp, but I don't see the explosiveness or mean streak.
