I nearly died when I saw "imbusal". Not to be mean or anything!
This basically confirms what most of us have been thinking all along. Ted set an offer, thinking the Patriots don't match it, and goes to sleep. The Patriots up the offer, and stubborn, rigid Ted doesn't budge, or doesn't even hear about it. Pathetic.

And I have some fearless predictions:
I think our defense is going to be excellent this year. Harrell will do pretty well towards the end of the season, and the defense will propel us to a 9-7 record.
Our offense will be pretty good, but we'll be clamoring for a deep threat that would put us around 11-5. And we could've had that.

I don't know if you saw it, but they asked Teddy about Favre wanting Moss. He looked real startled and said he had no input from Favre and didn't think that was an issue.
I wish Favre would have voiced something prior to the draft. He was very quiet, and if you are to believe Ted Favre had no dialogue with Ted regarding the acquisition of Moss. I kind of think that this came down more to M3 then it did Ted. I think that M3 was worried about having someone like Moss on the roster. Ted could have also been worried that this team wasn't going to be that good and Moss would dismantle some of the team unity and good character he has been trying to establish.
I too would have loved to see Moss in GB. You would have had the gun slinging strong armed QB and the still awfully fast 4.29 Moss. If nothing else, it would have been a very interesting year. Instead Ted reached for another possession type receiver in the 3rd and cntinued to rebuild while giving Favre the finger behind his back.

I'm not sure he comes over to the Packer board....we can critique Stotts freely here.....
But since he hasn't been on the Bucks board lately, I'm sure he's visiting Terry in Europe and will be back to tell us about it in a week.
Back on topic.....if all it truly took was $3mm guaranteed and a fourth rounder, TT should have pulled the trigger.

Ted's biggest mistake at the helm of the Packers. And while I hate saying this, b/c I don't think one individual should ever be put above the team, he owed it to Favre to make an effort to acquire more playmakers for him. He didn't need to sacrifice his roster and this team's future, but a 4th round pick and 3 million is certainly justifiable.

this is one of the largest mistakes I have seen by a GM. It isn't in the same league as Jerry Krause letting Jordan and Pip walk before they wanted to, but it is up there on the list of worst decisions made by a GM.
I am starting to want to get on the get rid of TT bandwagon.

Why do I keep reading around here that TT is building for the future and he shouldn't be concerned with Brett? Moss was acquired for a freaking 4th round pick. That is
not sacrificing your future plans. It's more like getting the best of both worlds. He easily could have acquired Moss while still otherwise building for the future instead of now. He still could have taken Harrell (and been more justified doing so IMO, even though I'm alright with the pick), Jackson, etc.
There's nothing wrong with building for the future, but still giving your QB something to work with now. It's not like you're sacrificing a 1st-rounder or anything. It's sad - that would have probably been the best receiving core Favre had ever had to work with in his career, at the tender old age of 37.

I really wish I could be optimistic about this team but I don't see anymore than 6 or 7 wins this year.

Thompson is a complete dumbass. If we got Moss and a manageable RB, this could very well have been a team that could've contended with the division. Instead, the idiot is still stuck in rebuild mode.
I agree with Brett and I know 99.9% of Packers fans will agree with Brett. Thompson needs to go. Now.

This is classic management technique here. TT and MM didn't want Moss....didn't want to deal with the headaches....didn't want him around the young players.
Now they can't come out and tell their star guy Favre that, since he wants Moss. So TT pretends to be interested.....would take Moss only if he comes for free with no guaranteed money, that way if he's an ass in training camp, he's gone. In the meantime, the plan is to really just let Moss end up on another team, but make Favre think they tried.
The problem is that they did such a half-ass job of it, and Moss ended up going so cheap that they got caught in their own game and Favre called them on it.

I think your 100% on the money. I think M3 played abigger role then people think. He is a young inexperienced Head Coach and the propsect of dealing with a guy like Moss if the team started to lose probably was enough to blck the deal.
