would you trade Favre for Donovan?

No. While Favre is almost done with his career, Donovan is no spring chicken either and he gets injured every year. I would rather just have Favre retire as a Packer and have his whole tough man starting streak be with the Pack than send him off to the Eagles for Mr. Glass. Besides, this is the year Favre will be breaking all the remaining records pretty much. Why would we send him to Philly so they get to enjoy all that when he should do that for us Green Bay fans?

No. McNabb doesn't fit with a rebuilding team any more than Favre. I think DM is going to be better this season but that's not really the point.

Totally agree. Brett aint getting traded but if he were draft pick(s) would be best.

I know he's the "heart and soul" of the franchise.....but the Pack aren't contending for a superbowl now or in the next couple years.

Don't they at least "owe" it to Favre to try to send him to a contender? Why waste his final 2 years? Does it really matter what uniform he wears when he sets some passing records? He obviously is upset with his situation and has or would like to be moved.....

McNabb, injuries aside, is 7 years younger and one of the top 10 qbs in the league.....

That being said from the packers side i couldn't see why they wouldn't do it.

They don't "owe" Favre jack squat, except is his salary.

well guys I work in Chicago and the rumor is that the Bears will deal Lance Briggs to Philly for McNabb.

yea it wouldnt really make sense, maybe if mcnabb was 5 years younger

That rumor doesn't have much merit to it at all. It was merely an SI writer (I believe) just tossing it out there. Why would the Eagles deal for another OLB after nabbing Takeo Spikes in the offseason?

Games for McNabb each season.Those who call him Mr. Glass or cronically injured simply aren't using facts for their opinion.Considering he also played in alot of playoff games and ran the ball 450 times in his career,McNabb has been pretty durable.

He's been sacked 255 times and ran the ball 447 times,McNabb has taken far more hits than the vast majority of QB's during his time playing.

I'm not saying this trade would ever happen,but how could McNabb possibly be a bad fit for the Packer?The guy is 30 years old,not 33 or 34.

Unless you think Thompson needs and should have 6-7 years to build a winner,McNabb would be a great fit here.He should have 4-5 good years left and unless Thompson does/did a poor job building the Packers,they should start winning quite a bit in 2008 with a quality QB like McNabb,a strong defense,and the maturing of the offensive players he drafted.

If this were the 30 year old Tom Brady I'd agree.

But this is the 30 year old Donovan McNabb.

The shelf life for running QBs is simply shorter than it is for a normal pocket passer. While you think he could have 4-5 good years left, I'm more inclined to believe that number is closer to 2-3. The fact that the Iggles drafted a young QB with their first pick this season shows that I'm probably not alone in thinking that.

I don't want a QB on the tail end of his career guiding this squad when the rest of the team is just entering their respective primes.

He is smartly becoming a pocket passer that only runs as a last resort.Last year he only ran the ball three times per game,the best asset of his feet now is the avoid pressure,not run the ball.

If McNabb was a Vick like QB,i'd agree with you.He's not though,Donovan is a very good passer that a few times a game can avoid pressure and run for a first down.He's hardly a "running QB" anymore that takes a ton of hits and counts on running as much as throwing to be effective.

geez, if people here want to take a chance on McNabb, why not offer up a 5th for Dante.

If he passes his physical, and looks solid, he can rest it for this year and get all set to compete with Rodgers next year....

any one know what Dante is making this year?
