I heard that a familiar name is being tossed around for the position. Mike Holmgren.
It makes alot of sense especially if he really is getting a little worn out from all the time and duties involved in coaching.

Interesting but I just don't know. He was a bad GM which I know isn't the same but it is closer to the position of president. He is a good coach for sure but I am just not sure if he can handle that side of the business with the same level of success he handled his coaching duties. I guess if it happens, I will have to trust that Harlan has done his homework. The thing with this whole Jones thing is that it seems to make Harlan appear less effective with this whole thing coming up right now.

I hope not, enough with the old Wolf/Holmgren guys. I also don't think it happens the way he left was on pretty bad terms. The last year he was here he was a lame duck. He also flipped off a fan after one of the games.
They need to get a football guy, but someone from the outside. EVERYONE since Holmgren/Wolf has had connections to that original They need to break away from that fraternity and just hire the best guy from the outside.

The definition of this role is fluid, it can be any number of things. With Harlan it was like a company CEO. He oversaw everything and had the final say in everything but he had one guy (Jones) run the business side of the business and one guy (currently Thompson) run the football side.
I think we need to stick with the same plan. I love Holmy as a coach but as the head of a large corporation, I don't see him in that role.

No way. Holgrem is too much of a hot head and emotionally involved. Great for coach - disaster for mgmt. We need a smart, level headed, even keeled, diplomatic communicator who holds the success of the team on the field as his highest ideal and whose greatest strength needs to be finding & hiring quality people for all other jobs and the balls to **** can mistakes.
