King's All-Future team

Anyone else see this?

He's picking the All-Pro team for 2012. Rules are no one over the age of 27 and if you're in college you must be in your fourth year. He also chose 3 D-lineman and 4 LBs.

QB: Young - Can't argue this one
RB: Jackson - It's gotta be either him or Bush.
FB: Leonard - Also a fine pick I suppose
WR: Calvin Johnson - Probably a no-brainer
WR: Anthony Gonzalez - Huh? Colston, Fitzgerald, Williams, Evans, Johnson...?
TE: Gates - Might be tempted with Vernon Davis by 2012.
LT: Jason Peter - Would have gone with Marcus McNeill.
LG: Shaun Andrews - Sure.
C: Nick Mangold - Another no-brainer
RG: Eric Dielman - Prolly would have gone with Mankins
RT: Joe Thomas - Not a bad pick, though I'd go with Jamaal Brown.

DE: Calais Campbell - Fits a 4-3, not a 3-4. Luis Castillo or Ty Warren would be better. But if I'm choosing the DEs I think will be best in '12 I'm gonna first go with Mario Williams.
DT: Amobi Akoye - Sorry, this is Tommie Harris's spot.
DE: Jarvis Moss - Another weird one. So he gets the nod over Will Smith or Gaines Adams?
OLB: Terrell Suggs - I think he's sort of a one trick pony but I'm fine with it. Maybe I'm a homer but I like Hawk more on the outside
MLB: Ernie Simms - OK.
MLB: Patrick Willis - Jon Vilma?
OLB: Shawne Merriman - No brainer
CB: Darrelle Revis - Would have gone with Hall (though I admit he's overrated) or Cromartie.
SS: Eric Weddle - Another head scratcher. Sean Taylor? Troy Polamalu?
FS: Laron Landry - I'll give you that one.
CB: Nnamdi Asomugha - I can also live with this one.

K: Stephen Gostkowski - Sure.
P: Mat McBriar - Never heard of him but sure.

I know this was just done for fun in a column but I don't know how you can rate anyone who hasn't played a down.

Agreed. 2012? Isn't that the year some are forecasting the end of the world -Myan calendar thing.

Don't agree with the Picks either

RB- Adrian Peterson (if healthy), you have the kid from Arkansas coming out, or even slaton.

Wr-Gonzalez? Made because of peyton, but he will be in his late 30's.

TE-Vernon Davis (gates will be 32/3)

OT-D'Brick

Using a 3-4, should use a more used 4-3 (Hawk should be there) and Ryans over Simms.

DE-Gaines Adams has looked great early

His DBs are all Rooks from this year? Funny

Yea, half of his team has no NFL experience. Very weird.

Return to Green Bay Packers
