Good article on JS web about Rodgers.
Even he admits he sucked the first couple years.
Article also acknowledges it was very fortunate he was a reserve this long and that Brett did "rub off" on him in a very positive way = Getting respect from his team-mates.
Thank God. Dil-Rod is evolving into A-Rod.
It was clear he sucked and now he has found the Light.
He's still got no lock on success but I am encouraged mightily.
The kid may be all right.

Reading that article and I can almost picture Favre and Rodgers enacting the scene at the end of Bull Durham
Favre: "You

It's nice to see he is trying to improve himself as a person.

This is what I was talking about in my comments on him "becomes unhinged too easily" - You could see him becoming unglued when something went wrong -no composure. Calling out teammates and just losing his cool.

He's looked poised and confident. Moves well in the pocket. Maybe all hope is not lost for the future of the Green Bay Packers. OMG...Maybe TT knows what he's doing afterall....Maybe not!

That is a very good article. Dude hasn't posted in this thread yet, but he has posted several times on how he felt it was great that Rodgers was able to sit his first two seasons because if he hadn't he may have gotten ruined as a QB prospect.
I think this kind of thing goes to show why in the "old days" it was common practice to sit your QB prospect for a couple years almost no matter what the situation of the team was like.

Great article that sums up what i've felt of Rodgers this season. As a rookie and last year to a lesser degree,Rodgers struck me as someone simply not ready to perform and lead on the field if he had been forced to.Who knows if he had been pushed on the field if failure would have ruined his confidence, but it has to other rushed QB's.
This year he has looked very different to me.He looks poised and playing with the real confidence of a QB where the light bulb finally went on,not to be confused with the youthful bravado of the last few years. This is a great sign because a sizable chunk of this rebuilding project of Thompson's is tied into whether Rodgers is successful.

I would really love to see Rodgers get an opportunity to play this year in somes games that count where they actually prepare him and gameplan for him....If you look where TT and MM are going with this offense it definitely suits the strenghts of Rodger's game, poise, accuracy, control.....I just believe Rodgers will be able to not only manage the game but become a playmaker within the framework of the offense...way to strong and accuarte of an arm not to.

He adds another dimension with his feet as well. He'll be able to pull the ball down and run for plenty of first downs as well.

I cited from beginning Steve Young being patient behind Montana several times in past threads for past 2 years. Always said Rodgers did not have to start right away or to deserve to. He's certainly no Steve Young and Young waited 5 years. Rodgers has benefitted sitting.
Dude is right on that Rodgers MAY have been destroyed if thrown into starers role. Some QBs have been. Who knows if they may have been much better if they had been broken in more slowly?
Personally while he seems so much better - it won't hurt Aaron or the team to sit and learn more one more year. Especially since Brett can still play. No way as great as he once was but good enough to win and get records while Rodgers benefits sitting one more year. He'll only be that much better for it.
Patience everyone. Enjoy Brett's last season. Hopefully by good fortune at least a .500 + season while ARod deepens and grows ready for next year.

we'll see how this year turns out for Favre...he really doesn't seem to fit the mold of QB that McCarthy and Thompson are looking to have.......i think this will be a very hard year for Favre, especially when he decides to force the issue...we all know he will.
