Which will lose the kicking war and be dealt?

Well, first off, I doubt the loser of the kicking battle is dealt. They will most likely just be released. Teams don't trade for kickers/punters because they know that teams will cut them if they don't make the team.

As for who I hope wins it, I hope it's Crosby. He has a little bit better range. If everything else is equal, I'll take the kicker who has a better shot at hitting from 50+, and I think that's Crosby.

There is also the possibility they keep 2 kickers, although I think that is unlikely.

Although Rayner performed well for us last year Im going with Crosby. Hes got a much bigger leg and is younger, and IMO can perform as well as if not better than Rayner did last year.

I'll go with Crosby also. He is only 2 years younger than Rayner but a rookie kicker performing this well can only get better.

I like Rayner, but I almost have to go with Mason Crosby. He's kicked in poor elements in Colorado, big leg, appears to be accurate, and probably has more upside than Rayner.

I doubt a trade can be made b/c teams know the player will be released. However I heard Gramatica might be out half the year with Dallas, so they might have some interest in dealing for one. Food for thought.

I'm a little nervous with a rookie in such an important spot but he seems to be the real deal. I was concerned that most of his success was in the thin air of Colorado but I remember reading somewhere around the draft that he's kick as good/better on the road in college.

Rayner was essentially a rookie kicker last year. Just think of it as a rookie vs. a second year guy.

I think the kicking dual has been a pretty much a draw this preseason. FG% was even, Raynor kicked a little deeper on kick offs, but Crosby had more hang time and still put it to the endzone quite a bit. My pick would be Crosby because he is a little younger and the fact Thompson spent a draft pick on him doesn't hurt.

As far as kicking in poor condidtions, Raynor has also kicked in poor weather at Michigan State. However, that didn't really help because he had one of the worst FG% in the league last year.

I would bet Raynor will be picked up a day or two after he is cut, simply for his leg strength as a KO specialist.

Crosby-it's a done deal.

seems 3 teams MAY be interested. Only one desperate. But perhaps enough interest/competition to get a 6th round pick?

I thot Raynor did ok last year and was surprised by Crosby pick. But since it was a low pick I was good with it as 6th & 7th picks are about competition and hoping to get a positive surprise.
I expect Crosby stays - Raynor goes.

I think Rayner will be a good kicker in this league, but I'm going to say Crobsy, mainly because he has a stronger leg, although the range is similar.

Rayner was 25th in FG% last year. He does kick in GB, but that's still not good. Crosby is absolute 100% the guy. I don't think the Packers will get anything for Rayner.

what is the chance we keep both??? I think that come some point in the season we could make a move by having 2 solid kickers.....
