Waiver Wire
It will be interesting to watch TT's moves. Last year he added Palmer, Bush and Peprah after final cut so we know TT will move IF he sees fit. Bush has turned out as a keeper. The other two will be cut IMO (if no injuries ahead of them).
Obvious needs-
TE #3 - after Lee & Franks
LB #4 - zero depth - Hodge will be on IR - again. Bishop looks OK but aint ready to start if needed. White & Havener are ST aces. Only Rory Johnson has skill as OLB and he's raw and unproven. Bishop & one ST guy will stick. Will TT go after an experienced reserve or go with youth we have?
S #3 - Main backup behind Collins & Bigby. A cut vet could be better than Manuel, Culver or Peprah. Rouse will be #4 as he has not shown anything much YET and needs time to develop but will stick on roster b/c he is 3rd draft pick and would get stolen IF we tried to put him on PS. Will TT go after an experienced reserve or go with youth we have?
FB - I like Miree but he gets hurt easy - Hall is looking ok but still... I could see Miree getting cut for a vet.
IF TT just decides to build with youth then LB-S could be the young guys we have but if TT really wants depth this year he needs one vet backup at both LB & S

Yeah, I really expect us to pick up a 3rd TE off of waviers, unless Alcorn or the rookie show anything tonight. I have been really down on Bubba the last two seasons, but I think he may actually put up some nice numbers this season. He won't have to stay in as a extra blocker as much, and he looks to be moving around better after losing some weight in the off-season. That catch in the game against the Jags was really nice where he caught a pass across the middle and ran for about 10 yards and finished nice.

Yeah, but this is the 3rd team that has cut him. He used to be a good back-up to Hearst in niner land, but after he left and Barlow got a nice contract he hasn't really produced. If he can't make it as the 3rd back in Pittsburgh behind an injured Willie Parker, and the fragile Davenport, and don't see why he would make it on our team when we have Jackson, Morency, Herron, and possibly Wynn if he plays well tonight, and the combo back White also has a decent shot of making the team if Miree doesn't.
I think we will pass on Barlow, but will certainly look to sign a TE off of waivers, and look to trade one of our kickers.

Juius Jones isn't going anywhere, they WONT trade him. A lot of teams (especially good ones) have two good RBs. Jones and Barber are perfect complements to each other -speed and power. The fact we don't really have one proven guy or top prospect shows you just how weak the outlook is at that position in GB.
As far as Rayner's vaue(Crosby will be the guy)- He ranked something like 28th in accuracy in 2006. He has a good, not great leg. He didn't do anything to help his case in TEN. Ted will be a miracle worker if he can get a box of golf balls for him. The way people throw 6th/7th round picks around, you never know.
Cole/or maybe it's Corey Williams that could be traded-maybe for a TE? Someone talked about Indy- Ben Utecht -That makes sense.

First, no one trades for kickers, especially not a starting running back for one.
Second, we passed on Crosby for Nick Folk who is in competition with Gramatica for the spot. So i doubt the Cowboys would even bother with either of the kickers you mentioned if they were waived.
Third Cole isnt much of anything, and our front 7 is an area of strength not weakness so we arent looking for anything there.
