Clowny was a bad pick and Manual was a bad signing but I give TT credit for cutting ties when he thinks it's the right thing for the team. It's not like he kept two punters because one was a high draft pick

Dallas? I hear Gramatica may get released (yahoo sports). Maybe that rookie kicker takes the job though.

By my count that left 52 + the trade getting Grant = 53
DL-11
LB-5
CB-6
S-4
ST-3
OL-9
TE-2
WR-5
RB-6
QB-2
Could us another TE & LB.
Have extra DL & CB.
They may be trying to trade DL or CB for TE.
If another spot is needed - unlikely but maybe cut a OL - Palmer - but I expect he sticks.

Clowney needs to add some bulk. He should have cut ties with Manuel sooner actually-that was a terrible signing (as was frank Walker-TT doesn't get free agency). Larry Birdine was the best prospect who was cut, he'll go on the PS if he clears.

For how cheap Walker was, how can you say he was a bad signing? - especially considering he hasn't played a regular season down for us yet. He got off to a shaky start but by many accounts has looked very good lately as he is becoming more familiar with the scheme.
Also, it's unfortunate that he was our only free agent signing. However, had he been one in many signings, nobody would be critiquing it.
Finally, Ted has disappointed me in free agency as well. However, he must know SOMETHING as he's found some real gems via street free agents and undrafted rookie free agents. ie atari bigby.

(on Walker): I didn't think he looked that good in pre-season and frm reports by GB beat writers he wasn't anything special in camp. The hact that it was his "big" signing makes free agency a disappointment.
I wouldn't get too excited about Atari just yet. He has looked horrible in coverage and tackling in the open field. The 2nd preseason game he showed he is strong when playing on the line blitzing the -QB. I'll wait to see him in a few regular season games before making an overall judgement. Jenkins and Bush were two good pickups, so Ted (and or his Scouts) seem to be doing a good job picking up these street free agents that can play a little.
SR, Yes they get Koren back after 6 games. The thing is you don't really know what kind of shape he will be in. The pack can't have ANY contact with him so that is a mystery. I don't think you can count on him, just consider it a bonus if he is brought in.

Frank Walker looked very good in the last game against the Titan starters, is a very good special teams player, probably moved up to dime back and can easily be the nickel if Bush falters....very solid free agent pick-up....I totally think TT gets free agency.....think many other teams don't. They may also trade Walker and get either a TE or fullback, or perhaps a combo of both.....either way he has value.

Hodge may need surgery. And if he doesn't he still won't be healthy enough to play for quite awhile. Pack kept him on injured reserve so they can give him another shot next year.

Today TT said Hodge will need surgery and 4-6 months of rehab.
