Eagles are 3 point favorites. Packers have started slowly the last few years. I don't think the Eagles are very good but if we can't run the ball (and I don't think we can), we are in a crapload of trouble. Let's see just how good our defense really is. They need to hold the Eagles to 14 points to win this game.

Westbrook, as always when playing the Eagles, is the key. He's a massive threat running and receiving out of the backfield. I think we will be able to stop the run, but Westbrook really concerns me catching passes out of the backfield. That is something we struggled with on D last year.

On offense, I see us passing quite a bit, given that both Jackson/Morency will be rusty. Eagles rush D was very poor last year (26th in the NFL), but it should be at least slightly improved this season.

I see a low scoring game. Any turnovers will be critical.

I think you guys have hit the keys. I think it will come down to GB getting open on pass downs.

Pretty much how I see the entire season going. If we win the turnover battle we probably win the game.

I don't get into the habit of predicting scores every week, so I'll just say that for the Packers to win this game (probably most games this season), the defense is going to have to control the game all four quarters (i.e. turnovers, putting our offense in good field position).

I like our receivers, but when you don't have a running game, it's pretty hard to move the ball consistently and score when you're so one dimensional.

The Pack is due to beat the Eagles. I think our running game will come together but not the first game, we need Favre to step up, no turnovers, and our d to play solid. Hopefully Mcnabb Plays crappy.

I only hope that the ZBS wasn't in full working order during the preseason and we see some nice cut blocking during this game. I see a lot of cross routes and short, quick throws. I think it will be a short, low scoring, boring game.

I feel really good about this game.....

In years past when we played the Eagles, it seemed like they would beat us up physically. I don't see that happening anymore.

As long as Favre and McCarthy are patient and work the original Holmgren offense where you pass to run with a ton of 5-yard slants I think we can do fine.

I think this will be victory #1 towards a 9-7 season.

I hope we use a little no huddle to help negate their blitz happy defense.

That was a video I made on my cell phone during a nice tailgate before a brewers game this year. You can use the free program SUPER from Source Forge. It converts .3GP to animated GIFs. It actually can convert any media video file to animated GIFs.

I think Jim Johnson will blitz even more then usual intill they prove they can run the ball. But I don't see a low scoring game at all. Both teams will score early and will come down to the fourth quater. Where philly wins it.

I think thats why Favre will throw short passes over the middle where our recievers shine in getting yards after the catch. Teams are stupid to blitz the Packers as it only works against their 2nd unit.

I also wouldn't recommend blitzing. It's not as if Favre hasn't seen it before.

Hell, if I were going up against Green Bay, I'd play one less LB and one more DB. See if Green Bay can run against six man fronts. I honestly doubt we could. Force Favre to throw into tight coverages.

By blitzing all you're doing is opening up a hole where a LB should be and leaving one on one coverage against Lee or one of our WRs (likely Jones).

Blitzing the Packers will cost the Iggles if that's what they intend.

Blitzing GB is not a good strategy. Our passing game is almost exclusively short routes where our WR's get YAC. That is why Favre is so hard to sack, we rarely throw long routes. I hope Philly blitzes, it will help our offense.

Thats what our offense is built around. GB uses one reciever to clear out a safety and a CB and then runs plays underneath.

The Eagles blitz about as much as any team in the league so you guys are going to see exactly what you want.

Just some stats to back that up.

Favre was sacked the 24th most times last year at 21 sacks, even though he was #1 in pass attempts at 613. That's about one sack every 30 attempts. He was only sacked 24 times two years ago and 12 times the year before that.

So last 3 years combined, he's been sacked 57 times in 1760 attempts, or once every 31 attempts. Blitzing plays into our passing strategy, so I hope the Eagles bring the kitchen sink.

If I'm Reid I play with more guys in coverage and make our running game have to do something.

By blitzing wouldn't that pressure favre and make the packers want to run more. And just because he doesn't get sacked it doesn't mean he isn't making bad passes. Like he did last year. He didnt get sacked any times but threw 2 Ints. That last three years he threw 2 ints agianist philly i think that has something to do with the blitz.
