According to Edgar, he reminds him a lot of Dorsey...

A scout from another team commented on him in last Sunday's JS-basically said he didn't understand it and that there were better options available on waivers. I'm surprised they gave up a 6th round pick -unconditonal.

A while ago I said I usually got more excited when Thompson doesn't go the chalk route with his moves, especially in the draft. Meaning, I like it when he goes with the guys that make even the biggest hard core fan go "Who?".
His track record seems to support that. The guys that he picked up that nobody knew about, guys like Collins, Jennings, Jones, Moll, Hall, Poppinga and Coston look like NFL caliber players, at least right now. The team loves Barbrie and believe he'll be a starter someday. The moves don't always work out, but the track record seems to be good right now.
Grant wasn't seen as an NFL player when he came out of Notre Dame but it seems Thompson liked him. I don't have any expectations for him, but who knows, he may be a pleasant surprise. He'll get his chances.

Who knows what we have in Grant, but I do know many Giants fans thought he played extremely well in the preseason. TT must have definitely seen something in him to give up a 6th for him and now Bennett seems high on him.

Remember when Wolf brought in Levens, the team really never knew what they had in him to the point they tried making him a fullback for awhile.Grant won't become a Levens, but if he ever ends up being remotely close,it was a nice pickup.

Grant is an A student from an extremely tough college, very well put together , can catch, and supposedly has very good quickness.....worth taking a flyer on, the more intelligent athletes the better off you will be....looking forward to seeing him run...............................through absolutely no holes

I saw #25 twirlling around on that short pass and asked if that was 'The Horse'...
I'm sure the # had something to do with that. Hope this guy is a pleasant surprise. Worth a look.
