I wanted to get this started during this Sunday Night Game. Either the Patriots are very very good, or the Chargers D is overrated. This game is going to be a pretty good litmus test for our team.

I'm going with the Patriots are really really good.

It looks as if the Chargers secondary is exploitable. I hope the Packers are watching this game so they can see how the Pats are dissecting the Bolts.

There shouldn't be much of a running game for the Pack against that front 7 of the Chargers.

Yeah, a ticked off Giants team really did their number today. But the Chargers may be a little better than the Giants.

I was thinking the same thing today. My hope was that they'd roll into Foxboro, pull out a huge win and come into Lambeau feeling like world-beaters. Not really going the way I'd hoped late in the 3rd.

I though the Charger offense was exposed a (small) bit against the Bears. I know Chicago is tough as they come on that side of the ball, but I was expecting more with a team that could go to Gates and LT.

Rivers made the Pro Bowl on the first half of last season. He had some Grossman like games late in 2006. My hope is that we can get enough pressure on the guy that he throws a couple to our guys.

I think LT will get his yards (and probably have a great day on the ground), but if they can rattle Rivers we might have a shot. Favre knows he'll have to play much like he did today: get the snap, find the quick slant or back in the flat and take the five yards.

One quick prediction: Merriman doesn't get a sack next week.

Rivers is easily rattleable and you can frustrate him. I am praying we blitz more next week with the LB's. Gates is the only guy that scares me in the passing game, the LB's will have to be on their game in coverage.

We can pass on their secondary.

I expect a close game.

I'm with Mickey,i think it's more the Patriots offense is just very very good.They can run the ball,have a good line,a great QB,and Moss looks to be almost as fast/skilled as in his younger days.Not sure how you can defend their offense.Gotta keep safeties deep to protect against Moss,but then they can run easier.They also have other good receivers,double Moss and the others get single coverage.Single cover Moss and pay the price.

I just hope the 3-4 defense doesn't mess with our passing game. I know our running game will be none existent, but if their LBs play zone it will mess up our short slants and quick passes.

I think we pull off the upset. No question SD is a very, very good team, but we have a lot of momentum on our side right now and are relatively injury free. The same can't be said for the Chargers.

It's going to be a very tough game. But I really believe that this team can get it done and pull off the big win.

Rivers hasn't impressed me. Like someone already said, you can rattle him a bit and get him frustrated; that was obvious last night against NE.

That said, on the offensive side of the ball, we're not putting up 35 against that defense even if they are a bit overrated.

I think we're going to have a very motivated LT coming into Lambeau. Chargers D is over rated, exploitable deep. I'd surprise Rivers with zone blitz packages, maybe send a corner. Ever since Merriman got off the juice he hasn't been as impressive. We might have a chance to open up our running game a little :pray:

. Hopefully keep the Chargers D on the field, and control t.o.p. If we can dto that then I think we have a chance to win.

The lasting effect of last night's loss will be determined by doctors, as the Chargers lost three starters.

On the Chargers' third play from scrimmage, right tackle Shane Olivea went down with a lower back injury he said was the result of a little extra something by Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas.

Olivea said Thomas kept shoving on him when he was bent backward in a pile. Olivea will have further tests today and could miss Sunday's game at Green Bay.

Inside linebacker Matt Wilhelm also left the game in the first quarter. He played the first two series after aggravating in pregame warm-ups the calf strain that caused him to miss the first three preseason games. He said the pain was not as bad as the first time he got hurt, but he must be considered iffy for Green Bay.

Scariest of all, perhaps, is that defensive tackle Jamal Williams left the game in the fourth quarter with an elbow injury. His left elbow was wrapped afterward, but Williams said he would play against the Packers.

Jeromey Clary made his first appearance at tackle in place of Olivea. Clarey played his first NFL game last week, as part of the field goal unit. Tim Dobbins replaced Wilhelm. Ryon Bingham replaced Williams.

The Chargers also reported that right guard Mike Goff suffered a bruised knee and outside linebacker Shaun Phillips suffered a quad bruise.

Yeah, but besides Olivea I wouldn't be surprised if they all played. That would still be a huge injury though. Olivea is a very underrated o-lineman and now they will most likely have to have a backup play against Jenkins/Kampman/KGB, and that is no small task even for a solid starter.

Hopefully their DT is slowed as well. I'll take a win any way we can get it right now with the running game sputtering. Knocking off SD would send a huge message to the Bears and the rest of the NFC. That message being "Da Pack is Back on top the North where we rightfully belong

Beating teams when they're down (or don't care, as is the case with the Bears last December) does little for me. Those wins end up biting you in the ass. Had the Bears gave a damn that night the Packers would likely have gotten rolled and the Packers would have ended up 7-9. Due to strength of schedule we would have picked 12th, one spot ahead of the Bills and right now we're probably watching Marshawn Lynch carry the mail instead of Wynn, Jackson and Morency.

I don't care to win games that we really shouldn't. It's easy to be enthused over a 2-0 start, but the fact is that if Philly doesn't blow two punt returns we're 1-1.

That is the most bizarre logic ive heard in awhile. Since you won a game at the end of last year that cost you a higher draft pick you now would rather start 2-1 than 3-0?

It's a little too early to start rooting for losses to get a better draft pick. I can't believe any Packer fan wouldn't want to see a win, unless there is absolutely no chance to make the playoffs. Even then, it is hard to root for a loss unless there is a Barry Sanders type player in the draft. You also have to remember that the top picks in the draft get paid a ridiculous amount of money.
