Game Thread - Chargers at Packers - 9/23

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Sep 23, 2007 2:17 pm

I don't think anyone will argue that we have more talent but we've played well and are at home. San Diego has their second straight long plane ride and looked awful last week.
We have all of our receivers back for the first time.

That said, I can't see our o-line keeping the Bolts off of Favre. He's going to be running for his life and this isn't the Giants defense this week.

Chargers 28, Packers 10

If Jones was going to be out like it looked earlier in the week, then yeah I'd say a blowout was in the cards. But now with all our guys back for the first time this season (receivers I mean), I don't think so. Probably still going to lose this, but I say Chargers 28 Packers 21. They make a couple of more plays than we do and walk away with a very hard earned victory, but not feeling all that great about it cause of the game we gave them.

The Pack will stack the box since our CBs can play single coverage against their WRs. I would then put a safety over the top of Gates and Barnett or Hawk under on pass plays. Rivers is playing like Grossman so we have to make him beat us.

Kampman will be putting pressure on Rivers all game with their starting RT out and I see this causing at least an interception.

As long as the Packers don't give up the big plays then they should be in the game all day. Packers win 24-21.

First off, It has been a good run for the Pack and the Badgers....Both I believe hold the longest regular season winning streaks..

I would love to be optimistic and say that the Pack win this game, but I believe that if our Oline can step up their game. Our D keep building and look strong, and we avoid TO's that no matter if we win or lose, we would be a better team in the long run for it.

SD is a good team. A team that SHOULD beat us. Lets make it a game, work hard and keep building for the future!

It is very nice to be early in the season and still have much room for error and losses, if you follow me.

Norv Turner will eventually have this offense running like clockwork, but what it always boils down to is quarterback play. Rivers is the key to this game, ten times over.

Gosh, we win this I'm on cloud nine, and you really have to take the Packers extremely seriously.

That being said, I can't see how our talent beats San Diego's.

20-17 Chargers.

Will be nice to see what our receivers can do, although I imagine Jones and Jennings won't be 100 percent.

First real test. For some reason I'm optimistic, mostly because of the offensive line and the coaching. I loved what I saw from Brett last week and how they used the short passing game. I think if they do the same thing this week and throw one or two deep to Jones and Jennings, they can move the ball fine.

Tough one to predict. If they play offense like they did last week, I can see them hanging with San Diego.

I see we didn't do a prediction thread this week. Bad karma. This can double for one:

Favre with another efficient game, 280 yards passing, 2 TDs, one fumble.

TDs to Driver and Bubba.

Driver with seven catches for 80 yards, Jennings with 6/55, Jones with 4/75.

Wynn with 40 yards on the ground, Jackson with 35.

Defense causes two TOs that ultimately decide the game.

20-17.

I am afraid the Chargers LBs will be mauling people in the short passing game.

They are REAL good.

Obviously a big test for the Packers even though I feel the Chargers are a bit overrated, don't get me wrong they are solid but they arent quite on the level of the Pats & Colts in my opinion.

I don't like the fact the Chargers are comming in to Lambeau off a big loss and LT has been sub par, that scares me.

I think game will be close and could either way, this is one of those games we probably lose by 20 last year.Lets see how far we have come, even if the Packers lose a close but play welll i'll be cool with that.

I have a good feeling for the Packers though and I predict a 24-20 Packer win today.

Not a good call to go for it, but that was a penalty.

Really didn't like the play calling there. If they know they're in four down territory why not run the ball twice on 3rd and short? :banghead:
