You've all probably seen by now that the artist formerly known as Ricky Williams has applied for reinstatement. It doesn't seem like Cam Cameron and his Dolphins have any interest in him what so ever. Given the lack of production out of our backs thus far, do you fellas think he would be a positive acquisition? Sure, he's got some character issues, but if this guy really is in great shape like his agent claims he is in, there's no reason why the guy can't help out our run game and take a little pressure off Brettski. They aren't goin to be able to keep up the pass production all season long, and they will do little to nothing in the playoffs without an at least solid run game. I think aquiring Ricky Williams would benefit my Green Bay Packers. What do u guys think?

What kind of bud do they have in Green Bay?

I'm excited to see how Morency plays in the coming weeks. He has an elusiveness and burst that none of our other RBs can match.

I think you bring him in and work him out if miami allows out and act like you are interested. If he blows you away, see how much it costs. And if it makes sense given the risks, go for it. Seriously I dont think he is worth more than a very late round pick. If the workout isn't up to par, oh well ,the media gets ahold of the story and you light a fire under your own RB's asses.

I think I've kind of changed my mind on Ricky Williams. I have total confidence in TT's judge of character. If he wants to bring Ricky in for an interview, pick his brain, and then decide if he can fit the mold of a true "team player", I'd be cool with it.

I am not interested in Williams, if anything if the packers are looking at RB's, the only person that I would be ok with is Corey Dillion. But im still hoping we dont have to go that route and that are running game finds itself.

I am up for us trying anything.

I personally believe that the little we have been able to see for Morency is reason enough to know that we can not count on him to be there week in and week out for us. He seems to always hurt something.

If we are going to maintain our winning we are going to have to be able to get something going on the ground....stop fumbling, etc.

We need to start looking at this season right now and getting our team ready for the playoffs.

I saw the list of other teams to start out 4-0, and several of them finished the season at .500 or below.

We could easily loose 4 of the next 5.....nothing is in stone.

I would be up for throwing big money at Tiki. Talking to Corey Dillon, or even looking at Rickey ONCE he EVER gets gets back into the league.

He would be weeks away from even knowing if he will be allowed to play...

But we should try to do something right now....Dillon, Tiki, Turner...something.

Morency can not be counted on, and the rest of our options are not ready.

I say do it. I guess out of all the charter issue guys I relate to his shortcomings most, so I never considered him a bad guy. He can win a ring and then we can go smoke together on the Tibetan Plateau.

That Tiki Barber thing is interesting.....I'm not sure we can just offer him money...don't the Giants still hold his rights? And with him wanting to be a TV star, I can't see him ticking off the New York market by coming back to play for a different team.

But of all the guys we've argued about the last six-months (Moss, Dillon, Henry, etc) Barber would be the guy I'd call about.....and offer the NYG a second round pick if Barber would consider it.

somewhere out there in the league or not there is a RB that can help this team. Go get him TT! We got a window, now lets take a shot.

But I'd doubt it. I think football (or any pro sport, really) requires a "hunger". To win, to succeed, etc. I don't think Williams has it - he's pretty content with life, and would probably rather meditate and stay high. Which is fine too. Chris Webber has this same issue, where he's pretty content with his life and all, and so doesn't seem to have that burning passion. Raw skill only gets you so far; fire gets you over the top.

Not that i believe there is any chance that Tiki Barber ends up a Packer,but i do wonder what his status is if he wanted to play again.

Was he still under contract with the Giants when he retired?If so,they obviously would still own his rights and would demand compensation from any team he'd have desire to play for.Hearing him talk on TV,Barber seems quite content to be retired.

As for Williams,who even knows if the guy has any skills left.Mix in the Dolphins own his rights and Williams wouldn't know the offense at all,it's not gonna happen.

I say bring in Ricky.

Remember this guy still owes over 5 million of his orignial signing bonus to the Dolphins for walking out while under contract.

Offer him an incentive-laden contract. If he's a problem, cut him, and lose nothing much.

If he passes him drug test, is reinstated, and shows a real hunger for the game, and plays with a chip on his shoulder, and our running game isn't averaging more that 60 a game then yes it would be worth it.

Am I for bringing Ricky in, NO. But if we are 6-0 at the bye, and our running game isn't clicking, we should really consider it. We need a running game if we make it to the playoffs. No, we dont need to pound it 35-40 times a game, but we need a running game that can get us 3.5-4 ypc against the better teams we will be playing if we make it to the playoffs.

I still have hopes for Grant/Morency/Wynn/Jackson. I mean come on. Morency saw his first action since the beginning of training camp, grants only been here a couple of days. And Jackson and Wynn are both just rookies. We also have 2 young guards to boot. Before we jump on the Ricky bandwagon lets give these guys a couple more weeks to show what they can do.

Damn I never thought of it but yea that would be SWEET to have ricky playing for us. Bring him in also as stated slim to none shot but having barber would be hella sweet.
