You guys are just going to have to trust me on this, but we're a pretty damn good team. Even with the loss today, we have a TON of positives to look at. We actually established the running game in the 1st half. Yes, it backfired against us today, but if we can implement the run like we did in the first half, we are going to be a real good team on offense. And yes, our defense did step up.

Penalties can be fixed and they will be fixed. I believe in McCarthy. Our team is much more disciplined than what we were today and you'll see a big cutback in penalties next week.

My roommate is a Bears fan and he agrees that we don't have much to worry about. He said that we're definitely one of the best teams in the NFC and that we are probably even better than Dallas.

We'll be straight. This team has too many positives to not be good. Everyone is saying we're going to go to crap when the weather gets bad. I strongly disagree. Good passing attacks can function in any type of weather. Plus, our running game IS improving and it will benefit our passing game out.

We will beat Washington next week. Even with all the problems we had today, we STILL should have won that game. When's the last time we could have said that about a Packers team? Detroit's awful secondary made Campbell look like Theismann. I have a feeling we'll do a little better than that next week.

When you have a young team, you'll have games like this, especially against a team, while overrated, that was a super bowl team last year.

Not worried about it at all. In fact, I know I'm one of about ten of about 500 people on these boards that actually seems to be an optimist, but...

Oh well, a tough loss. Time to move on.

I agree that the "this loss is the beginning of the end for us" posts are a little over dramatic and I still saw a lot to like out there, on both sides of the ball, at certain points. But in the NFL, every win is so important that it's tough to stomach a game that, by all measures, we should have won. Couple that with it being a nationally televised home game against our biggest rivals that have beat us in our own place three times in a row coming in...and it justifiably feels like one that got away. Of course we'll all be ready by next Sunday!
