Help me understand!!!
Can anybody please explain the conservative play-calling in the 2nd half?!!!! It was only a 10 point lead. The short passing game was working so well in the 1st half, why not stick with it?!!!! I'm so sick of coaches putting their balls away when they have a lead and hoping to hold onto it. Play to put the other team out of reach, not to hope to hold onto a lead. The offense in the 2nd half was pathetic. It's all on the coaches on this one.

Disagree. We averaged 5.5 yards a carry running the ball so what is wrong with running it? A ten point lead against the Bears should have been a win as their O stinks. The only way we lose that game is if Favre has brain lock and starts throwing a bunch of picks. The coach was protecting against that. If Favre had 3 picks in the 2nd half and we lose the game fans would be screaming "were up 10, the Bears O sucks and were averaging 8 yards a carry, why is that idiot coach still throwing the ball all over the place". It my mind if we don't turn the ball over 5 times and 3 times in the 2nd half we win the game with ease and nobody is complaining about play calling.
And how is it the coach's fault that the PLAYERS turn the ball over 5 times and the PLAYERS get called for stupid penalties and the PLAYERS run a two minute drill like they are in slow motion? The coach's called plays would have accounted for 40 points and 500+ yards of offense if the PLAYERS didn't keep screwing up (turnovers & penalties).

Why does everyone keep insisting that there can only be one thing to blame? It was a combination of turnovers, penalties, bad field position, over dependence on the newfound running game (after the passing game looked invincible in the first half) and just downright playing scared the final 30 minutes in front of a home crowd and national TV audience.

I agree completely.
The second half was about as ugly as it gets in several different aspects. What is important is how this team responds to its first loss in a very long time.

Turnovers. It's all on the players for this loss.
Every drive except one in the 2nd half was inside the Packers own 30 (two near the 10). The Bears had 6 drives starting well outside their 30.
Field position was key due to the turnovers and lack of execution on offense and penalties.
