Daryn Colledge = Horrible Draft Pick
Time to move on and get a replacement Ted. Your reach is a worthless piece of #@%$ lineman who couldn't keep me from getting to the QB.

I would say that College along with Jenkins are my 2 most disappointing Packers this season. College played far better last year then he has this year and that makes no sense, McCarthy said today that there is a strong possibility he will be replaced. Tony Moll has played very well his past couple games and if Coston is healthy, College will go to the bench. I am not going to give up on College yet though, a number of years ago a 1st round supplemental pick was used on a total bust of a left tackle in Mike Wahle, a change of position worked wonders for him.

I hope a move is made. Outside of a few dumb penalties, Moll has played solid football, more so than Colledge has. Boone ate him alive yesterday and it's not the first time Colledge has been a weak link this year. Colledge allowed the pressure that helped contribute to the INT before halftime and he nearly blew the long TD pass to Jennings. If Favre wasn't a QB that threw so well of his back foot, that TD pass never happens because Boone pushed Colledge right into the backfield.

I'm not sure I understand this. I've heard people say this often, that Colledge is better suited for tackle than guard. Could you or anybody explain why that should be true?
I'm not that football smart, so this is a sincere question. From what I understand, tackles are typically a lot heavier than guards. Clifton and Tauscher are bigger than our C/G. The vikings have that monstrous left tackle.
If Colledge is undersized/weak for guard, won't he be ever more undersized and ill-suited to tackle? Or is the idea that DT's are bigger than DE's? So that at tackle, he could hold up against guys like Kampman and KGB, he's strong enough for that, but that at guard he's just overpowered by the more Jolly/Harrell/Pickens-sized DT's?

I don't think many ever considered him to be a possibility at left tackle. Like you said, that's a position where you want size. He played there at Boise State, but obviously the NFL is a whole different ballgame.
But I think if moved to right tackle he'd perform significantly better, simply because it's what he was accustomed to in college. He's got the size to play there and the athleticism. He's taller than Tauscher but isn't carrying the weight. I can't see adding 15 lbs being a huge task with an offseason program.
I think the question is whether you continue to play him at a relatively new position where he hasn't improved, or you get him ready to take over for Mark once his contract is up at the end of the year.

Plus, Colledge is only 6'4, most tackle are taller and have long arms. I'm not sure the arm length on Colledge, but it's important for tackles that have to play in space vs speedy pass rushers. Short LT's tackles are pretty rare as are guys without long arms.
