Scouts Inc Draft Do-Over

Not really a do-ever. It's more a question of 'Which rookie would you take [i]right now[i/]. For example, Pozluszny would be giving Willis a run for best rookie linebacker right now, but in Scouts Inc's redo, they take into account his injury so he drops. They also take into account Anderson and the Browns' passing game:

Any of the six teams that passed on [Peterson] originally might take a mulligan to get him this time around, but the Browns look like the best fit right now as they could use a little more running to balance the seventh-best passing game (254.5 ypg) in the league.

Anyway, some Packer related notes:

Their two do-over picks:
16. Green Bay Packers -- Michael Griffin, S, Texas
Original pick: Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee
Harrell displayed a fine blend of quickness and power during the preseason but has not been able to avoid the injury bug. He was inactive for the team's first four games, played sparingly as a reserve during the next two outings and has not seen the field since. And with Nick Collins on the shelf due to a knee injury, safety is suddenly an area of need for the Packers. As such, they could certainly take advantage of Griffin's versatility, which has been a major plus for the Titans so far this season. Tennessee is trying Griffin at cornerback but he would obviously stay at free safety in this scenario. And in addition to providing depth in the secondary Griffin is also averaging 23.4 yards per kickoff return.

63. Green Bay Packers -- Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
It's too early to give up on original pick RB Brandon Jackson, but Branch has good size and would help improve the Packers' defensive line depth. Branch was originally taken 33rd overall by Arizona but this would be a better spot for him.

Current Packers:

32. Indianapolis Colts -- Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee
Original pick: Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State
Gonzalez is a perfect fit as the team's No. 3 receiver, but he's no longer available in this scenario and don't expect the team to reach for another wideout here, either. Green Bay's James Jones is the only rookie receiver selected after Gonzalez with better production, but Jones also gets more opportunities with Brett Favre spreading the ball around so well this season. Instead, the Colts will go with the best value in the Packers' Harrell, who also could provide depth in the wake of Corey Simon's retirement and Booger McFarland's season-ending injury. Harrell was banged up earlier in the season but he's healthy now and is a good fit in the Colts' one-gap scheme.

35. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- James Jones, WR, San Jose State
Original pick Arron Sears has started every game at guard but the team could go in a different direction after taking Thomas in Round 1, and Jones has been a huge steal as big-play target for QB Brett Favre in Green Bay.

62. Chicago Bears -- Aaron Rouse, S, Virginia Tech
Original pick DE Dan Bazuin was placed on the IR after undergoing his second knee surgery in a four-month span, while Rouse is beginning to see more action for the Packers and the Bears certainly lack depth at safety.

First, I'd hope if the draft was done over right now they'd elect to hold onto their second round pick and pass on Jackson in the second round. That would mean no Rouse, but it's a small price to pay if it meant they could land one of Posluszny, Meachem or Wright.

I also wouldn't go with Griffin. Yea, Scouts Inc takes injury into account so Collins is out and that's how they justify the pick.

Of the remaining Players on the board I'd go with either Ginn, Adams (just a great value and you could keep Jenkins at DT) or Nelson.

Overall there's plenty I disagree with.

1. I can't see any way the Lions wouldn't take Peterson over Calvin Johnson. It's not like WR was a huge need anyways and Jones is far from a framchise back.

2.The interesting choice would then be if the Browns would take Johnson or Thomas given how well Thomas has played. My guess i they stick with Joe and Tampa takes Calvin.

3.At 16 it would be a tough call for me between Griffin/Nelson and Ross. We really need a CB long term and Ross has played well for the Giants, plus he'd help us this year by being an upgrade over Bush. On the other hand, a Griffin/Collins or Nelson/Collins safety combo would be a silly athletic duo for years to come. I haven't watched either safety play, so offhand i can't say which i'd prefer more. If pressed to make a quick choice, i'd take Ross.

4.Harrell doesn't really fit the scheme Dungy runs. That Tampa scheme generally looks for really quick DT's that that slice through seems over run plugging tackles who hold two blockers.

5.In the second round, if we took Ross, i'd be tempted to take the guard Sears, Posluszny, or Wright if we didn't go CB in the first.

I disagree with that. From what I've seen Harrell would fit that system well since his best asset so far for us has been disrupting the blocking by using his quickness and strength to get up field. He's a big guy, but much like Jolly he could fit in both our scheme our in the their scheme.

IF we had a do over - OF COURSE We and every other team trades up to take AP.

Otherwise Ross. A CB is just so valuable.
