Jarrett Bush

Post#1 » by Ayt » Fri Nov 9, 2007 6:22 pm

Bush was getting killed by many on this board earlier in the year, but lately he's been invisible in games which is a good thing. I thought he looked like a young guy with starting potential down the road in the preseason and he's playing like it now. I didn't even think he was playing all that badly for a young guy in our man to man system earlier in the year, but he obviously needed some growth. Any thoughts on Bush's improved play and whether you've changed your negative opinions on him if you had them?

Here's a little article about him. Its also good to note Blackmon is making progress. I think he has a very bright future as well.

I have been very pleased with Bush as of late. He doesn't make many big plays but he has been able to play the nickel spot quite well in the past 4 weeks.

The one thing that bothers me about him is that he seems to peek a little to much into the backfield which is why I think he gets burnt when he does. He just isn't quite has gifted to be able to peek in the backfield and stay with his man.

But all in all he has been etter tahn decent in the past few weeks. I will really look to evalute him when the pack goes to detriot for Thanksgiving. That will be a test for him seeing that we should be in a lot of nickel coverage that game.

Detroit will indeed be huge for all or guys in pass coverage. I wonder if we'll actually see some dime, something we haven't done much at all this year.

I never doubted that Bush had long term talent but I admit I had huge doubts about his readiness for THIS season. Seems he' growing into it! Thank God! But I'd still be worried about him if he had to start at CB this season.

blackmon also looks like a true talent but can he stay healthy? That's his challenge.

The play right after Favre through the INT right before the half versus KC he let his guy go right to the 1 and catch a pass without even a jam.

That was horrible, but overshadowed by McCarthy/Favre.

We have to look at corners first next year.

He's gotten better. Worst case, I think he should be a long term nickle/ST guy. Best case, he could be a starter. Hard to tell right now. He has gotten better.
