Cumulative Ratings of Badger Commitments
This is a system that another fellow Badger fan and I developed at Recruiting Planet, to find out what the "experts" are saying about our recruits. It should be informative for casual and die hard recruting fans alike.
Enjoy (I hope)

Would like to see height and weight on there too, if at all possible.
You can access height, weight, and a lot more by clicking on the verbal commitment thread stickied to the top on the Badger board. There's a thread started for every one of our commitments and virtually all of our known prospects.

I can tell you almost certainly he's not a close relative.

He flirted with Mizzou, but his status was updated this weekend, and he claimed to be 100 percent Badger. Then again DE Brendan Kelly said he was 100 percent Gopher, a couple days later he decommits, and now he's believed to be an imminent Badger commitment. No out of state commitment is realistically 100 percent. They aren't ingrained with unconditional love for the Badger program. I'd bet against him decommitting, but I wouldn't be shocked. Missouri is rolling, they play an attractive style of offense, probably have a better depth chart, Henry Mason is having health problems of course, a lot of his friends appear headed to Mizzou. There's a lot going in the Tigers favor. But he said he fell in love with Madison on his initial visit. A decommit would sting a bit, but wide receiver/tight end is not a position of imminent need.

I don't think athleticism along the D-Line was the biggest issue this year, but rather; size, ability to hold position, and depth. The D-Line was undersized and overworked, and as a result our undersized, but athletic backers had to absorb too many blocks. Badgers need a mauler defensive tackle. If he has athleticism; bonus. Darius Parish from Kansas (decommit from Nebraska) looks like a player who would fit your qualification, and we might have the inside track. He's huge, but needs to get stronger and use better technique. Great potential though if we can toughen him up in the weight room. You can develop strength more than quickness. Badgers might take a JUCO DT as well (Blake Ferras). Not much information about him. They're being forced to scramble because BB put an inadequate amount of emphasis on the D-Line his first year and half of recruiting for whatever reason. A lot of recruitniks saw these issues coming.
The most impressive recruit that the Badgers are seriously pursuing right now is running back Mark Ingram Jr., son of the former Packer receiver. I'd rate him a 10 prospect, even though the services rank him at a 7-8. Late bloomer. Put up gaudy stats this season (2 300 yard games, and 1 400 yarder). Has an ideal running back frame at 5-10, 202 and runs a 4.4. Runs low to the ground, good quickness, shiftiness, top speed, strength. Just visited for the Michigan game and was impressed enough he's scheduling a return visit for a basketball game. Always a great sign.

I was very concerned about depth at DLine going into this season, it seemed to me that we've under recruited that area of the team in past classes. They've been signing alot of DB's, WR's, and offensive lineman and IMO not enough on the defensive line.
I'll admit that i'm more a casual observer with college recruiting. I read up on the Wisconsin Scout site here and there each year to read up on recruiting, but not to the degree many others do. So maybe my belief that the Badgers have under recruited the defensive line is off base and it's more that some guys didn't pan out, some might have switched positions from DLine, and Cooper did get suspended. It just seemed to me that we had boatloads or receivers and DB's, but DT was especially thin and DE wasn't much better.

Does anyone know the status of DT Willie Mobley and where he stands right now...it seems like he was all but committed to ohio st. but now i see hes not quite sure and i was wondering if that means hes possibly looking at wisconsin or is he looking more at minn. like everything ive read has been saying.

Your perception wasn't off. They flat out didn't offer that many guys unless they were being secretive. And I doubt they were considering the results. They made about 3-4 offers to true DT's in the '08 class up until recently. Meanwhile they offered around 13 RB's and about 15 players who project to safety. Now they're telling pretty good backs and safeties they aren't recruiting the position anymore. It seems to me they should have been more selective with RB's and Safeties, but less so with DT's. We offered a similarly low number of DT's last year and had to scramble late with Jasper Grimes. I haven't really heard anything positive about the guy in practice. He received zero offers the entire process. Duane Zlatnik would have been a great fit for Wisconsin this year. 3-4 time state wrestling championship. Put up awesome numbers on both sides of the ball, so you know he's athletic too. But it looks like he'll be Jayhawk.

I've been told from a fairly reliable source that's practically a done deal for the Buckeyes.

The Badgers received a commitment from another defensive end in Brendan Kelly from Minnesota.

But nonetheless, great commit IMO. Not sure the closing of this class could (realistically) get much better than Parrish, Stoller, and Ingram.
Don't sweat it Mike. That situation is easily rectifiable by hanging out more in the present. I went on a rant in the Zlatnik thread about negative recruiting. Come give your opinion and the 411 on Zlatnik's status.
