Rayner waived by Chiefs

Green Bay - Former Packers kicker Dave Rayner, who lost a training camp battle to rookie Mason Crosby, was released Tuesday by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs replaced Rayner with 43-year-old John Carney.
Rayner made 15 of 22 field-goal attempts this season after joining the Chiefs for the season

You almost got to fail bad for Rayner.
One year he's the kickoff specialist for the Colts. The next he's the kicker for the Green Bay Packers with a nice future in front of him.
Then the draft's best kicker falls to the Pack in the 5th round and like that he's cut. Three months later he's done.
Ouch.
