What kind of pro do you think he will be? The similarities to Crouch are there, but Timmy is obviously a real passing quarterback. Someone at work told me he would trade anyone on the Packers to get him when he comes out after next year, but I don't see his game translating to the professional level.

When I watched him last season I didn't think much of him as a potential pro QB.

Now I think he's going to be a lot like Steve McNair.

Oh, and as for him in relation to the Packers, even though I think he'll be a good QB in the NFL I don't see him as a Peyton Manning type prospect that you do anything to get.

He's started to prove something (to me) as far as his passing game goes. He actually might be able to survive on that in the pros if he continues to work on it, with a complimentary scrambling game. The kind of guy who can get out of the pocket and keep plays alive with his feet, yet remaining a threat to throw.

But as for his scrambling as a whole, he's in for a rude awakening when he starts playing on Sundays IMO. Unless he changes his running style (note: a possibility) he's going to get destroyed by the guys like Sean Taylor (RIP) and all of the hard-hitting linebackers and safeties in the league. Right now, Tebow runs like a running back. He has no qualms whatsoever about running over linebackers and such. He doesn't avoid contact. Sometimes, it seems as if he looks for it. In the pros that will change quickly. Maybe no one here, but I know around the net some people think that Tebow is going to be some revolutionary pro scrambling quarterback. Sorry, folks. Not going to happen.

EDIT: Yuck. Tebow is not a can't-miss prospect. No way would I trade "anyone on the Packers" for Tim Tebow, especially considering the price that that is likely to demand.

One thing I think you have to keep in mind is that Tebow is in the exact same system that got Alex Smith drafted #1 overall. Smith rushed for 631 yards and 10 TDs, threw for 3000 and 31 and looked like an excellent pro prospect. Thus far he's been a complete bust.

And the same school that produced such greats as Rex Grossman and Danny Wuerffel.

He wont have an impact on the nfl

With so many college teams going to the spread offense, NFL scouts and GM's will have to earn their money in evaluating which of these spread QB's can translate their skills well into a pro style offense.

I never though Alex Smith would become a top notch pro QB, but i'm more on the fence with Tebow. My gut reaction is he can make it and be better than Smith, but he won't become special either.

I think Tebow is going to be a pretty damn good pro. I think he'd be a very good QB no matter what system he was in right now.

He wasn't a top QB recruit for nothing. Just because a QB can do a lot of running in his system doesn't mean he isn't a good pro-type QB.

Obviously, the biggest obstacle will be transitioning out of the system into something closer to a pro set but this guy had a cannon and is improving his accuracy each year.
