Green Bay Packers @ St. Louis Rams Pregame talk/predictions

Post#1 » by MadCityBucky » Sat Dec 15, 2007 12:27 am

Marc Bulger is back as the St. Louis Rams' starting quarterback after a full week of practice with no concussion-related symptoms.

"He looked good all week," Linehan said. "I'm sure he's going to be just fine, but if there was any setback whatsoever for any reason we would have Plan B available.

"But we're not anticipating that."

Kick returner Brandon Williams was ruled out with an ankle sprain and the Rams will use with either Marques Hagans or wide receiver Derek Stanley, who was elevated from the practice squad.

Trap game. We have won the division playing against a 3-10 team who is getting a little healthier. Domes haven't been a problem this year (Minnesota, Detroit) but this is the Rams playoff game.

We still have to win to get a bye and that is huge incentive.

Let's get a win and stay healthy.

How I'd love for a W here and the Seahawks getting upset. Give the guys a good deal of rest going into the divisional playoff game.

I guess I wouldn't mind clinching it the week after this one, just so we get another meaningful game so we aren't flat when our playoff game comes up.

Brett needs 184 yards to break Marino's record. Too bad it will be on the road.

We should win without a problem. But ST. Louis and the Packers are not a good combo! If the Rams started there 3rd sting it still would be a close game for some reason...

Farve should have a easy game, Grant should run for over 100 again and a score... The d will handle the rams o fense...

Lots of Pack starters are nicked up for this one and we might be due for a couple turnovers. I think it will play out like the Lions game - where the home team comes out fired up, the Packers weather a close game for the half but ultimately overcome the Rams attempt to control the clock with Steven Jackson. Rusty Marc Bulger throws a crucial 2nd half pick. Mason Crosby gets lots of chances to show off his leg in the pristine indoor conditions.
Pack 26
Rams 14.

Once again I demand a cookie of some sort. For some strange reason I am either calling the score at the end 3rd quarter, or I am just one Pack TD off from the final each week.

Week 14 pick: Pack 31 Raiders 7. End 3rd quarter score 31-7. Final score 38-7.

Week 15 pick: Pack 26 Rams 14. End 3rd qtr 27-14. Final 33-14.

But my greatest prediction is that Jessica Simpson has stolen Tony Romo's mojo, reopening our chance at a superbowl trip. If Romo keeps playing poorly I hereby vow to see her next movie.

You think I'm kidding about the mojo thing? ESPN picked up on it too:

"Romo finished 13-of-36 for 214 yards, with a career-low rating of 22.2. It came in front of his parents and his newest A-list girlfriend -- Jessica Simpson, who tugged the front of her pink No. 9 jersey, then mouthed the word "Romo!" when cameras spotted her. For what it's worth, Romo's previous worst rating came last December against Philadelphia when then-girlfriend Carrie Underwood was here."
