This is a relatively new one on youtube. Two comeback victories from that depressing year when Ray Rhodes was the coach.

Favre, Don Beebe, and Frank Winters trick or treating at Holmgrens house in 1995. Pretty Funny Home Video.

I'd love to see a clip of years ago when we were playing Tampa Bay. Brett got blasted in between a great hit by Regan Upshaw and another defensive lineman. I thought Favre would be hurt for sure because he was scrambling and never saw Upshaw.

The best part was Upshaw was celebrating the hit and Brett jumped up and got in Upshaw's face. I remember Regan looked stunned Brett got right up and talked some trash.

One of my favs was a game also vs the Buccanneers at Lambeau, some of you might remember its kind of similar to the game your mentioning El Dude but this one is from 1993.

Packers where down 10-6 with about a minute left in the game and where in the red zone.

On 2nd and goal Favre scrambles and goes towards the sidelines but doesnt slide and gets hit hard,he actually got sandwiched and crunched by two defenders and driven out of bounds at about the 5 yard line.

Favre is the ground and appears to be hurt and both Tampa defenders are in his face talking big trash,Favre then trys to limp to the sidlines and falls halfway there and has to be carried the rest of the way to the bench and it looks like there is no way in hell he can finish game.

After the timeout Favre limps back on to the field to everyones suprize and on 3rd & goal throws the game winning TD to Sterling Sharpe and the Packers win 13-10.

That game is like a forgotten classic,I think its one of Favre's most gutsy games and one that sticks out in my mind as one of his best just for what happened at the end but I never hear anyone mention that game at all.

I guess thats the game that is probably one his best but for whatever reason is the one game that got lost in all the other great games in his 17 season carrer.

Hmmm rilaman, i wonder if we are thinking about the same play?

I forget the year it was, but it was a home game. Brett got pressured and scrambled to his right i believe. He then turns back to his left after dodging a defender, but never saw that Upshaw was bearing down on him from the backside. Upshaw absolutely plasters Favre, the hit looked brutal because Brett wasn't braced for the hit and another defender hit Brett nearly at the same time. You could hear the crowd groan.

I remember thinking Brett had to be hurt or knocked out cold, plus Upshaw was standing over Favre celebrating. Brett was down for a few seconds and then he jumps up very quickly and starts jawing with Upshaw and if i remember correctly, Sapp just shook his head and was smiling.

BTW--i saw you have some vids on youtube rilaman, nice job. It was weird seeing old names like Vinny Clark among others and Brett holding for Jacke.. Was also interesting seeing NFL Primetime from way back then. That sure was an exciting time, hard to believe that was 16 years ago.

I think the play your thinking of was in the 1997 playoff game but im not 100% positive, that was an awesome play that your talking about and one I remember as well.

And I quoted that line about a great time because I couldnt agree more.

I remember all the excitment and im sure you do as well all over Wisconsin around that time in the early to mid 90's when both the Packers and Badgers went from laughing stock to the bigtime.

I didnt follow sports untill the very early 90's when I was in junior high but I was old enough in the 80's to remember there wasnt much to get excited about when it came to Football in the state of Wisconsin in the 80's

So even though I had just started following things I was aware of what was going on and man was it a fun time to be a football fan in Wisconsin.

You had the Packers have a suprize season in 1992 and appear to be finally moving in the right direction as a franchise then just when we got excited about that we sign Reggie White and the Packers make the playoffs in 1993.

Then the Badgers win the rose Bowl on new years and just a few days later the Packers win a playoff game in dramatic fashion.

That was definalty an awesome time in Wisconsin and the younger fans who started following the Packers & Badgers after they already established themselves missed out on a very fun time to be a football fan in Wisconsin.

Hard to belive it was all quite a few years ago now.

I'm a bit older than you and the Packers sucked when i was a kid, so much so that i became a Cowboys fan. I had Dallas sheets on my bed, a Dallas coat, and a Tony Dorsett jersey. When Dallas lost in the Super Bowl i went to my room and cried. I hated the Steelers because of it.

I became a Packers fan again in the 80's, the Lynn Dickey years and things finally got a bit better when Don Majkowski arrived. Then Brett took over and when we signed Reggie White i was stunned.

The funny thing is i loved the Dallas Cowboys so much as a little kid, but they became enemy number one in the 90's when they were always preventing the Packers from advancing in the playoffs. Now i still despise them and love nothing more than seeing Jerry Jones face on the sidelines when they lose. Man i hate that guy.

9-26 at home since '86......wow! I know it's not what it was in the mid 90's when GB never lost in GB....but I just can't see, even with 4 gone, it ever being that bad again.

Return to Green Bay Packers
