Just like all the rest taking that side.

There is a thread about Favre articles, several have been posted there and are not filling up the site with more Favre threads.

everyone has a side, and everyone knows just about everyones sides. The only questions now are what is going to happen over the next 10 days or so.

Thanks for posting that. That indeed was a phenomenal article and perfectly sums up what many fans think when we have to deal with the Favre loyalist cult. So where is this drama currently at? Is it still at the point where Favre just needs to show up at camp and show the coaches he's still better than AR in order to be the starter?

I didn't read that link, but assume many of you saw the Bob McGinn article in MJS this morning. He went on at length about what a disaster Favre is making this out to be and how the team needs to move forward with A-Rod (and Brohm)

The newsmaker item in there related to the Vikings. Apparently Brett still has his Packers issued cell phone that he uses (and the Packers pay the monthly bill on). Someone in the Packers accounting department noticed a bunch of calls to not only Darrell Bevell but also.....BRAD CHILDRESS. Ha ha.

I'm guessing Favre maybe wanted to get caught. Or he just isn't very smart. Either way, that's why the Packers feel they have the Vikings dead to rights on the tampering issue.

I need to visit that website more often after reading that; what a great article, it sums up perfectly how a lot of us have been feeling (and saying).

It's great to see McGinn is back from vacation or wherever he's been. McGinn is very thorough on backing up what he writes, so this new info is probably well-substantiated and explains why the Packers thought they had such a strong tampering case against the Vikings. The NFL should penalize the Vikings harder this week than they hit the 49ers earlier this year. What I'm most curious to see, though, is how die-hard Favre supporters try to spin the revelation that their precious QB is both demonstrably foolish and traitorous, repeatedly talking to the head coach of the Packers biggest rival on a Packer-supplied cell phone. You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.

If you guys can't access the McGinn article online, it's worth the 50 cents for an MJS.

Pretty long and detailed. He makes the case that Favre has somewhat "held-up" the team the last four years with the "retirement act" and at this point it is counterproductive to a team approach and culture that MM and TT have built up.

He seems to think all three QB's on the roster have potential and A-Rod could end being a solid 10-year starter.

"The lovesick Favre fan believes: The Packers "owe" Favre another shot because he gave so much to the team.
The emotionless Cold, Hard Football Facts: Show that nobody owes anybody anything.

The fact that some lovesick Favre fans believe the Packers "owe" him proves that they inhabit an irrational plane of existence.

Favre was paid quite handsomely for his years at the helm. He received great wealth, fame and praise. And then he decided to call it quits. As far as we can see, everybody's all square."

I am not a Favre worshiper, or have I ever fully sided with him as some fans have. I am a Packers fan first. I want to see the Packers win. This is a win now league. Things can change so quickely. Two seasons ago, with similar members of our core here we were 4-12.

So I ask you this, what do we "owe" Aaron Rodgers? Just like Favre, we owe him nothing. The Best QB should play. Period.

I hope Favre showes up to camp and we get the opportunity to see who is better.

Either way, the aritle was one sided, we don't owe either of them anything. The Packers owe the fans the best team they can put on the field. Period.
