What if Favre question.

It is my understanding Favre can report during camp and the Packers have to take him back. What if Favre waited until the very last day (when is that?) to unretire and report to camp? The Packers would have to take him back but at that point I feel they would have almost zero ability to trade him. I mean how much would a team be willing to give up for a one year (?) QB that missed most of camp and doesn't even know the offense? If Favre is looking to stick it to TT this might be his best option. Favre misses the camp workouts which he hates, get paid millions to be the backup and is still in position to be the hero if AR gets hurt or sucks. I guess I'm just wondering what might happen if Favre waffled until the very last second.

I don't see any chance at all that this would happen. While Brett obviously has issues with Ted Thompson, i just can't see him pulling a stunt like that which would only accomplish one thing, turn the vast vast majority of Packer fans against him and i do think Favre cares a lot about how he's viewed by the fans of a franchise that he spent 16 years playing for.

I think at some point in the very near future, a final solution with Brett will happen, the far most likely being Favre traded.

Though unlikely its possible. Tt better take the 1st offer he gets from Bucs or Jets even if its only a 4th or he may indeed see that scenario.

Despite what everyone thinks of the whole Favre mess let's not forget one thing: Favre isn't doing this to screw with the Packers and/or Thompson. He's doing this because he wants to PLAY. This thing will be resolved in the next few days and the team (and Favre) will move forward.

Right on, Farve knows that if he's going to play this year he has to start cooperating and by him not showing up at camp today it shows that both sides are working together to move him. Favre and the packers don't want him in GB camp in case he gets injured and Favre knows he needs to be in another teams camp by this week or his odds of playing this year go down dramaticaly.

Brett Favre has signed his letter seeking reinstatement to the Green Bay Packers but may not send it to the NFL until Monday or Tuesday.

Favre admitted in a telephone interview that he did not report to the Packers' camp Sunday with the rest of the team in part because general manager Ted Thompson pleaded with him to delay his arrival.

He offered to compete for his old job but was told that wasn't possible.

"I asked Ted [Saturday], 'Am I welcome in the building if I report?' and Ted was just about shattered," said Favre in a telephone interview. "He said, 'Brett, you can't do that -- you'll get me fired.' I told him I'm not trying to get anybody fired. So Ted asked me to let the guys report and let's try to resolve this over the next two or three days."

Favre said that Thompson wasn't receptive to the veteran quarterback winning his job back from Aaron Rodgers. He relayed his most recent conversation Saturday with the GM.

"I said, 'Let me compete, you'll know I'll win this job' and Ted said again, 'Brett, things have changed. Aaron Rodgers is our quarterback.' It's pretty clear -- and this is what I told the commissioner -- that they want me to go away, stay retired. They would much rather see me in a Packers' uniform, paying me $12 million to be a backup -- which you know they really don't want -- rather than see in another uniform, no matter what they say. They'll drag this out, asking a king's ransom [in a trade], hoping it all goes away."

Looks Favre asked if he could some and compete for the starting job with Rodgers, but they said no.

Favre signed the papers and will send them monday.
