Wow, this is bigger than any of the media talking heads calling him out, IMO. These two guys played together, won a SB together, and have been part of the same organizaton for almost two decades.
Wow. Very telling in my opinion.

To be called out by a friend who was known for bringing his lunch pail to work and using his determination, grit, and gumption on top of his god given ability - on top of him being a player that won a Super Bowl with Brett... I donno, when LeRoy calls you out, you should listen.
I am glad that LeRoy came out on the side of the organization here.

Damn. Kind of out of the blue from Butler here. Throwing dirt on Favre's legacy. But I guess if it's true he might as well say it.

Every business has guys who work for them who are really productive but also cause a lot of internal frictions. You always have to weigh out whether the productivity you are getting is worth the headaches.
I still think there was a ton of daily behind the scenes stuff that management felt dragged the team down the past year or two or at least took up an inordinate amount of management and damage control time. And TT and MM finally couldn't handle it anymore and didn't want to put up with it for the three hours they got on Sundays.

Maybe locally, but if I happened to mention to one of my friends that LeRoy Butler slammed Favre in a radio interview, I doubt they care enough to find out what was said. Maybe the JS blog picks up on it.

A former teammate doesn't really mean much to me. Same when Chewie starts to open his mouth.
Now, one of his teammates from last season? That I would be very interested in seeing.

I think this carries more weight than some people are giving it.
I thought LeRoy still works with the organization in some capacity (Special Asst. of some sort?), even if he doesn't currently I'm sure he has plenty of connections and insight as far as the behind the scenes of whats been going on.
I also remember a video I have at home of LeRoy doing some Favre interviews and golfing with him down in Miss., I think the video is probably from around 2000. But it sounds like their personal relationship is non-existant.
Either way, this is probably the best insight/explanation I've heard so far into the "mindset" of Brett Favre currently.

Everyone can have their own way of feeling about how this whole situation went down and if they'll hold it against Brett, but for myself, it's over with and i hold no ill will against Favre. Since he's in the AFC i'll cheer for him and the Jets, i really don't care anymore who was to blame.
My only hope is that some Packer fans stop acting like complete morons and stop giving grief to Rodgers given how wonderful he's handled things. He's now our QB, get behind him.

And if Favre had ended up staying LeRoy would be full of praise for the guy. I've done business with LeRoy. He's loves hearing himself talk. I know him well enough to know his opinion is which ever way the wind is blowing.

His comments don't move me either way. It's not a shock that Brett likes to keep to himself. To say he avoids phone calls or whatever compared to Manning/Brady? Please... I don't care. He's a football player, not a TV star.
I appreciate what Butler has done for the state of Wisconsin, he definately is accesible even have seen him myself at many local golf events. I agree with MD that Butler would be singing a different tune if Favre was still around.

Are you kidding me? Because a former teammate bad mouths a player? Gee, that's never happened before.

Favre was/is an emotional guy. He felt unloved, so he left. He retired first because he had loyalty to the organization. Many people would have demanded a trade or renegotiated a contract. Favre never did.
He literally was married to the organization. It was love two ways. When he say the love disappear going one way, he was no idiot, it was time for him to move on. He thought it was retiring, but it wasn't, so this is why we're in this horrible situation.
I'm disappointed and sad to see Favre go.

Yes, they should chartered a private plane to fly down to Mississippi and hold a large press conference announcing his return. Why they weren't willing to go to those lengths is beyond me.
