It's kickoff and the stadium looks to be about 35% full.

Favre looks, um, odd in a NY jersey.

Favre looks sharp on his first drive.

It's just so freakin weird seeing him in that Jets jersey.

Nice. The HD feed just came in.

He looked good on that drive. Favre to Keller for a TD.

Very weird watching this. At least he's in green. Considering he's practiced less than a week and has a 4-12 team around him he looked very good. But it's preseason so who knows.

Yeah, he looked really good. He looks like an even bigger upgrade for them than I thought. They actually resembled a legitimate NFL offense right there.

He's a master at running that offense.....and showed it again tonight. The problem as we all know comes when he faces pressure and works to make something happen. But the Jets fans have to be pumped up.....Favre will make another million this week on further jersey sales in NJ/NY.

Why any team hurting at quarterback wouldn't bid for Favre is beyond me.

Obviously you can't judge at all from tonight's sample, but people forget just how bad the Jets offense has been.

They scored 20 points like maybe a quarter of the time last year.

Why would you not spend a 3rd on Favre?

And for that matter why would the Redskins not? Or any team like them?

I'm glad we have Aaron Rodgers and not Jason Campbell BTW. Couple of buddies I know play poker with Santana Moss, and he basically says the Redskins offense was much better with Todd Collins, because Campbell has no idea how to use his 2nd and 3rd options on routes.

You think the Jets will give us Favre back if we give them back that draft pick and we throw in Aaron Rodgers?

I have a feeling this thread would be about 50 pages if Favre had played poorly and Rodgers had played a good game against the Niners. :D

There will be a lot of humble pie served this season, with not much said about it.

We'll hear plenty when Favre has a bad game. And it will be because Favre is washed up. And when Rodgers has the same we'll hear about how it was the receivers/offensive line/running game/inexperience.

Don't worry, while a small realgm board will be quiet all of the favre fans will be calling for Rodger's, Thompson's, and Mccarthey's heads with every A-Rod interception or poorly thrown ball.

This season is going to be tough to watch Favre have success with the Jets but the packers are still in great shape long term and that shouldn't be lost.

So lets enjoy one small place where rodgers can get a little slack. Everyone knows that there will be little patience for him even though its just his first season of actually playing and there will surely be ups and downs.

Meanwhile, if Favre will throw a pick its just "favre being favre"

Go Packers

I agree MD, but I thought the reason we got rid of Favre was because we had great WRs and RBs and O-Line and Favre was holding us back.

How quickly things change.

Whoever thought that Favre was holding us back?

He's not here because he went back/forth on retiring and put the organization in a tough spot.

Not to mention starting Rodgers is about having success for the next 8 to 10 years vs. giving into favre after an offseason of TEAM preparation so he can just show up after not fully committing to play until 2 weeks ago for 1 last run.

The Jets don't seem to mind the "tough spot" that Favre put them in.
