An interesting perspective since Brandt was the one doing the negotiating for the Packers.

Ahman Green Update
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Ahman Green Update
My God that was a great column. Insider stuff everywhere. I'm amazed Brandt was so candid in that piece.
Even though Sherman was terrible as a GM, I still do think he was a good coach. He was loyal to the guys who played hard for him and he to them. You can see that with Green.

Re: Ahman Green Update
Ahaman saw the writing on the wall. he could either accept the pay cut, or be like Rudi johnson and be on the outside looking in. neither Ahman or johnson played in any preseason games for their respective teams. both were coming off injury laden sub-par years.
Ahman took the paycut and kept his job. Rudi was released today.
I think by accepting the paycut, Ahman is admitting he's not going to be the starter this year for the texans. yes, on the surface, it looks like he's helping out the team's salary cap. but underneath the surface, it was either accept the pay cut, or be cut completely.

Re: Ahman Green Update
That was a very good article. Some interesting stuff in it definitely.
I remember at the time thinking Houston overpaid him and as much as I liked Ahman, I'm glad the Packers didn't pay that much. I know there were people angry at TT, surprise surprise, b/c they had no set in stone option at RB. But as Brandt said, sometimes the best deals are the ones that aren't made.

Re: Ahman Green Update
one of my friends is close with ahman, they were both in the same car club. He was talking about the deal at the time, how Ahman didn't like it that a lot of the money was tied to games played.
Was very interested to see someone with first hand knowlege explain how the deal went down.
