Yup. It would mean an offseason of hearing about it from my family and reading about it in the media, but this draft is deep as hell in positions we need. Another pick at the end of round one would go a long way towards fixing some of our issues at key spots.

I personally would like to see Brett win another Super Bowl and i also don't care one bit about if that makes some of the Farveaholics then bash TT. As Ted has said, the NFL is the big boys league, there is no room for shrinking violets who can't handle criticism. It gives us a first round pick and Favre gets another Super Bowl appearance, both are great things in my view.

I'm perfectly able to still like/respect Favre enough to wish him well while at the same time very much supporting Rodgers and thinking the future is in great hands with him being our QB. I don't understand why so many Packer fans feel the need to wish Favre or Rodgers to do poorly this season, almost as if fans have to pick one of the two and hope the other has a bad season just because some fans will shoot their mouth off. **** those fans, i simply tune them out and think for myself.

Yeah, I'm not sure it belongs in this thread, but ESPN has a graphic up showing how Favre couldn't throw for more than 10 yards today in the bad weather. We are hitting that time of year when Favre really slows down. That said, I'll take the first round pick. (or be happy with the second rounder)

Not to turn this into a Favre thread, but I really don't care how Favre does, but I do hope the Jets do well because it helps the Pack.

I can't get into the draft hype yet, at this point I'm still irate that we have the best team in this division yet are not going to go to the playoffs.

He was a terror last season and he looked good early on in this season, but I think teams have figured him out a bit and he can no longer rely on speed rushing. Still a pretty awesome option for the 3-4.

I actually like Selvie as a speed rusher in a 4-3 early in his career who will eventually fill out and become a full time defensive end. He's so versatile. I've seen him line up at every spot on the defensive line and get to the QB.

I payed a lot of attention to Raji and he was unblockable early on and always in the backfield. For a guy with a rep as a space eater, he moves really well and looks to be incredibly strong.

Herzlich looks and plays a lot like Julian Peterson.

Cody's been a non-factor for most of the night, though Florida's spread option neutralizes his effectiveness. With Harvin being out Florida's run-game isn't there, anyway. Raji has looked like the better DT, today, though.

Sweet Jesus is Julio Jones going to be a force someday. He looks like TO junior. Unless the WR is a physical freak I'm not a huge fan of taking a WR in round one, let alone top five, but he's going to be worth it in two years.

Brandon Spikes has been relatively impressive. In on a lot of tackles and he looks like he can play in space. Even though he's looked at as an inside backer, I think he's got pass rushing instincts. He flat threw Andre Smith right to the ground on one play.

Smith has been good. Not Joe Thomas but he's going to be a great pro.

Antoine Caldwell, IMO, has been the most impressive lineman in this game. This class of centers is going to be freakin' LOADED.

Great article by McGinn today previewing the draft already. He seems to really enjoy the draft and always has a great preview section heading into it. Interesting to see what some scouts say about some of the big time players.

And man does McGinn seem to really hate Ryan Grant. This is the 2nd time I can remember that he has publicly called out Grant and how bad of a signing it was in one of his columns. I say give the guy some time.

I hated Grant's extension, but at least Thompson covered his ass by making it so front loaded and bonus-filled. He can be cut this spring and the Packers aren't on the hook for anything.

This loss bumped us up one place in the draft.

A couple years ago Sportsline kept an updated draft order. Unless it means they can jump us for position, from now on, we want our past opponents to LOSE. We have to get our opponent winning percentage down

Thats a relief. Cause seems like when he held out for the money. Once he got playing like hes old like he's ready to retire. lol He didn't have much zip in his runs. He didn't get that zip until like 2 weeks ago. But he isn't making huge runs like last year. I'd prefer to see more Jackson running plays. Or more screen passes to Grant or Jackson. I think we need to stock up the OL in the draft. They are coming together. But still not the greatest OL we had in years past. Alot of penalty flags this year coming from holding calls on OL.
Montgomery looked great today as well as Bishup. Our DL needs to be stocked again. Kampman only worthy DL player there and he vanishes often too. Our LB corps get a huge spark from Bishop taking Chillars spot. Hawks is no where to be seen. Poppinga was quiet today to. Plus Barnett out for the year. Only bright spot on our D is our secondary with take aways. But they also give up big plays too. Glad we found out punter for next year this week. Next year we need to win all close games. This is like our 5th game losing 3 points or less. Curious if TT trade down to get more picks or moves up to get higher picks and use more pick to move up? Since we have the Favre pick too. Possibly Chiefs could be calling us about trading Gonzales to us. Since we thought we had him like before trade deadline. I could see him being on the block. Hard to say with the cap. Since we need to re up Jennings soon. We need to keep Blackman too. He has that big plays for returns like Desmond Howard had. Not sure how many draft picks we have including the Favre pick? Like 7-8?
I would draft 3 OL,1 HB,1DT,1DE,1HB,1LB.

As of today, we are as high as 9th in the draft, as low as 11th (tied with San Diego and San Fran at 5-8). I expect us to lose at Chicago, beat the Lions at GB, and the Jacksonville game is a toss-up.

I'll say we finish 6-10.

If I get bored today I'll look at San Diego and Jacksonville's strength of schedule. Based on last week's numbers we would have the #9, though obviously changes week to week.

edit: my bad. I meant San Fran. If we end up with the same record as the 49ers they'll almost certainly have the weaker SOS. They're at Miami and St. Louis and then home against Washington.
