Week 17 NFL Games including GB-DET

Let's not kid ourselves, the Packer game doesn't deserve it's own thread so we'll just include it in the around the league thread. I fully expect us to win (0-15 teams are 0-15 for a reason) but I'm indifferent to the game. A loss is a better draft pick, but it also puts this team in the history books.
Should be a really exciting day with lots of playoff implications.

I'm still 100% behind the draft pick. As dirty as it feels, I'm cheering for Brett and the Jets and the Packers to choke, at home, against a winless team.

Yes, I want to lose to the worst team in NFL history at home to close this season to move up 2-3 spots in the draft.
Preferably with Aaron Rodgers with the ball in his hand late to tie or win.
Because sports in no way is psychological or anything. We'll just hit the reset button next year.

No way can I get behind the "lose for a better draft pick" today. You cannot end the season by losing to an 0-15 team and going down in history as quite the joke.
Great start so far. At least it seems they have enough motivation to not wanna be the laughing stock of the league.
As I say great start, Jennings and Martin with two straight drops. Catch the **** ball.

It is very important that we score 47 points in this game as well, because then we will have scored the same points as last year total, and thus that means the offensive production was identical this year as it was last year.
Also we have lagged behind in offensive YPG last year at 342 (last years was 370). While we can't catch that, we need a nice 500 yard performance to make the two more comparable.

It's irrelevant because the Packers aren't losing this game. I can see Jollay is still on with his sarcastic babble about the offense, even though he knows he is wrong.

Just for your reference, we played the Lions last year twice also scoring 37 and 34. We put up 481 and 394 yards in those games against a
slightly better Detroit team.
EDIT: And before you tell me they were 7-9, we beat them twice in their midst of a 1-8 stretch.

Why stop there (unless you have some sort of agenda)? We should also try to finish the game with DET having very little yardage, which will lower the defense's 335 ypg average closer to the 313 from last year. Should help lower the points allowed average from 24 to 18 too.

Why does this douche keep calling Johnson 8-1?

More terrible play calling from MM.
I understand Finley almost got that one into the redzone but on 3rd and 2 from the 38 you run or throw a quick pass. Assure the first down and then work from there once you are in scoring position.
It's calls like this this season that have taken an offense that moves the ball nearly as well as last year but can't seem to control games.

Game over. Loss.
MM/Bob Sanders will find a way to lose this one.

Drops cost us points that half probably. Rodgers should have about 180 yards right now.

Yet another game where we go into half having dominated in total yards (nearly 2:1) and are leading the turnover battle but are still somehow only ahead one score.
Its impossible for me to believe at this point that poor coaching isn't a big part of that.

Jennings is climbing that list. He had, what, four drops in this half?
Finley is going to be a player.

It's not 100%, but it's a big part. That drive where we started inside our own 10 and got to their 38. That's 50-60 yards on the total. 3rd and 2. Run twice, roll out Rodgers, hell, I'd even rather have a quick slant out of the gun.
Instead, we go to a fairly open but risky pass in terms of completing it for the first down down the sideline to Finley.
Yes, a similar pass to Finley was the reason we got it down there, but run the ball a few times or roll out Rodgers, grab the first down and THEN throw it to Finley. You're taking a 20% chance at the red zone instead of an 80% chance at a 1st and 10 at their 35.
It's stupid little things like that that have pissed me off to no end with MM.

Yeah, Finley has some speed on him for his size. With Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson, Martin, and Finley, we are stacked with receiving weapons. As long as they get the OL settled in the offseason, the offense will be a beast in 2009 in Rodgers second year starting.
