McCarthy Year End Press Conference

Highlights so far from the JS.
Green Bay - Mike McCarthy has started.
Mark Tauscher has not yet has his knee surgery.
Scott Wells needs shoulder surgery.
Chad Clifton needs a couple of surgeries to clean some things out.
Justin Harrell needs to be re-evaluated.
On possible staff changes: "I'm really at the beginning of it. Those are things that we'll look at."
McCarthy will start meeting with the coordinators.

As far as his self-evaluation, McCarthy said "Well, 6-10. My name is on the door. It starts with me."

On whether this team needs to add free agents on defense: "I think that's convenient to attack the youth of our team."

On changes: "I'm going to go through the evaluation process and I'm going to set a course for success."

As normally happens, McCarthy expects 20 percent of his roster to change.

"All of our schemes are under evaluation right now."

We're doing more variations of the zone-blocking scheme than we did in year one...I don't run schemes because so and so won a world championship. We're creative and aggressive.

Being the youngest team is not something McCarthy is aiming for, and he doesn't think the Packers will be that again.

Injuries were not the reason why the Packers went 6-10. "We didn't overcome them enough."

On losing all seven games by four points or less, "You have to look at that. And we will."

"Yes, we definitely made the right move at the quarterback position. I was very happy with the productivity at the quarterback position."
