Bigby gets second-round tender
An NFL source says the Green Bay Packers have offered safety Atari Bigby a second-round tender in restricted free agency.
Today at 3 p.m. is the deadline for NFL teams to tender restricted free agents. The second-roud tender for Bigby is worth $1.545 million and means he is free to sign a contract with another team, but the Packers have the right to match the deal, and if they don't they'll receive a second-round draft pick as compensation.
The Packers have six other restricted free agents as well, and the source said four have been notified they'll receive the low tender of $1.01 million: receiver Ruvell Martin, safety Jarrett Bush, fullback John Kuhn and outside linebacker Jason Hunter.
The Packers will retain the right to match any deal they sign with other teams, but all four were signed as undrafted or street free agents, so the Packers won't receive a draft pick as compensation if they don't match an offer.
The source said tight end Tory Humphrey and receiver Shaun Bodiford apparently won't be tendered because of concerns about their injury histories.
